Kichu Resort Paro

We booked this hotel for one night, from april 10th to april 11th 2025, which happened to be the last day of our bhutan trip. The online pics looks great and we thought we would treat ourselves. We made the reservation using hotels.com and pre-paid online.When we showed up to check in around 4:30pm, the front desk person said that he did not have our names on the check in list. We were shocked and asked him to recheck. Even showed him the confirmation email from hotels.com as well as through the app.He called the manager, who gave us sketchy vibes. The manager said the following in the sequence below :1. First he said that they had no reservation from us.2. Then he said, they always have this problem with hotels.com.3. Next he said, their policy is full pre-payment and they had received our reservation from hotels.com and had reached out to them for the payment. However they had not heard back from hotels.com and therefore could not honor the reservation and therefore gave up our room to someone else.. what?!?!So as he was making up these stories, we figured out that they had acted in an unethical manner and given up our room to someone else so that they could get money immediately.We rushed to find another hotel for the night, which was tough since the paro festival was going on. The kind folks at Nirvana inn helped out and we had a place to stay for the night.So beware of these fraudsters and avoid them all costs!

It’s a great resort with a beautiful view but cleanliness was on the lower side . At the restaurant, they have a limited menu and service takes a long time . The front desk staff was excellent n very helpful n friendly

this resort is really a very good place to stay in Paro.
the staff is very good and tries to help you for everything.
although cottages are not very spacious but the location is awesome.
river Paro is flowing just behind the cottages and that makes it lovely place for stay.
besides this the green area in resort is quite large and maintained ..

We had a lovely experience at Kichu resorts. We were there with our parents and we got 2 River view rooms. The view was amazing -the windows and the lobby area overlooked the beautiful Paro chu.

We ordered breakfast ala cart and were pleased with the freshly prepared food. The one improvement area for the resort is that some landscaping and beautification of the property is required for the open areas and pond on the property.

Infrastructure inadequate, staff absolutely novice and the management has the sole motive to rip off the customers especially the ones not in group.In our case on requesting for an extra pillow, an extra mattress was also provided.We were offered complimentary breakfast (We reconfirmed that it was free and included with the room)
After all this at check out we were presented with a bill that charged about rd.500/- ++ per breakfast and rs.900/- ++ oer night for that mattress.
Really disappointing.
