Amazing location, 5 minute walk to Lind bridge station, shard, restaurants and bars
Not 5 star quality. Decor a little tired in places. Our TV didn’t work, stains on the tea coffee cabinet, one blind wouldn’t come down and and curtain was broken
The staff were brilliant it’s how all staff should be in all hotels some of the other 5 star hotels in london I have stayed in could learn a lot from the LaLit
There was nothing I could fault
This is a beautiful hotel right on the end of Tower bridge I have stayed at with work and decided to stay with my husband on a trip to London. We were upgraded to a suite which was huge with a vaulted ceiling. I love the big shower, Japanese toilet and general feeding of calm you don't get at the big chain hotels. We had drinks at happy hour which were great and an amazing Indian breakfast
Room was a little hot as A/c struggled but it was really warm for the UK so not usually an issue
Great breakfast; location was perfect on the South Bank; really attentive and friendly staff; so much better than the normal hotel experience.
The hotel is a beautiful property and still retained the essential elements of the original school. The room & bathroom were well furnished. The staff were very polite and helpful. We appreciate the complementary snacks and drinks. The location was really good. We loved that it was just 2 minutes from the beautiful waterfront.
Nothing much to complain about. The wifi in the room was bit weak. Also the toiletries could be of better quality. We didnt have breakfas/dinner so cant comment on that. But we had desert one evening and it was amazing.
Lovely staff, beautiful building
Building was lovely
I believe reviews should be objective, balanced, and fair. Good feedback should acknowledge what a hotel does well, while also constructively highlighting where improvement is needed.
There were positives. The room was good, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The in-room bar being included was a nice touch, and the basic snacks provided were appreciated. I was staying for business, so cleanliness, comfort, and efficiency mattered.
However, I would not describe the overall experience as 5-star.
I arrived before 3 pm and was told that the room was ready, but that I could not check in before 3 pm unless I paid an additional £200 early check-in fee. Whether that is reasonable, I will leave to public opinion. For me, 5-star hospitality is not just about the building or the room. It is about how a guest is made to feel, especially when the hotel has the ability to make the stay smoother.
I travel frequently, and I think I can safely recognise the difference between a good hotel and a true 5-star experience. A 5-star facility goes above and beyond. It is often not the big gestures that define it, but the little things.
Staff interactions were hit and miss. For example, I returned to the hotel around 3 pm and the room was still not serviced/ready for me. I had to ask at reception. I then went to the bar, ordered and paid for a drink while waiting, but no one came over to update me or tell me when the room was ready.
These may sound like small details, but small details matter in hospitality. A simple update, a proactive approach, or a small gesture of consideration can completely change the guest experience.
Overall, the hotel has good rooms and some strong positives, but the service experience did not match what I would expect from a true 5-star hotel. With more consistent staff interaction, better communication, and a more guest-centred approach, the experience could be significantly improved.
The hospitality was great!
The gym could have been better
Fantastic location, comfortable bed and great shower! The food is also delicious. They do a very good breakfast
Some of the staff in the restaurant could be friendlier
Excellent deep massage with Mukesh. He was able to get into pressure points and I feel very relaxed afterwards. Would recommend coming here! Additionally the spa is very clean, I would highly recommend
everything! the decor to hospitality
It was a beautiful old grammar school
Nothing
Our stay at The LaLit London in Room 303 was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end. The hotel itself is stunning, full of character and beauty, and the location simply could not be better. Being just steps from Tower Bridge made it the perfect base for exploring London on foot.
Room 303 was incredibly spacious, and the bathroom was absolutely outstanding—one of the nicest we experienced during our travels. The complimentary minibar stocked with drinks was such a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated.
Room service was remarkably fast, and every detail throughout our stay exceeded our expectations. What truly made this hotel exceptional, however, was the staff. Every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay special.
A very special thank you to Sandrip and the entire staff for catering to our every need and making us feel so welcomed throughout our visit. Their hospitality went above and beyond and made our stay unforgettable.
If you are looking for a beautiful hotel with an unbeatable location, exceptional service, and luxurious accommodations, The LaLit London is the perfect choice. Room 303 made our stay even more memorable, and we would gladly stay here again
We love everything!
Beautiful suite and building and excellent service
Could have had bathroom hand towels. The shower made the floor very wet when you opened the door.
As it was our wedding anniversary, the hotel kindly provided us with an upgrade!
We were very grateful for this.
The hotel then offered us 2 for the price of 1 on ALL drinks during their happy hour.
We would recommend a stay at this hotel, plus it is convenient to a number of local and tourist attractions.
