Gästehaus Otto Huber

The hotel itself was lovely, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The room was well equipped and we appreciated access to a coffee machine downstairs.
For a non smoking hotel, we were surprised to arrive to a very powerful smell of smoke as the owner, who was very welcoming and chatty, not to say interesting and so knowledgeable, smoked!
The blinds on the bedroom windows did not keep out the street lighting and I found I had disturbed sleep as some of the external lights were annoying.
Overall, a lovely place to stay.

The staff was lovely, and the breakfast was very nice. I had a great coffee machine. They offered laundry service, which was so appreciated, they even recognized my birthday.

The bed was just a little disappointing… Very uncomfortable

A beautiful room, an excellent breakfast, and an extremely friendly staff. My only problem was that, because smoking is permitted in the garden and all alongside the house, my room had a strong stale smoke aroma. Don’t really know what can be done about that; it’s just a matter of air currents.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable two night stay at The Otto Huber Guesthouse. The host was extremely endearing and helpful, providing local information and his English language was very good too. We were given a room on the top floor so there were a few steps to climb with our bags but that really didn’t matter as the room itself was perfect. We had the benefit of a balcony with a view of the mountains. Everything was very clean and the rooms was large with a seating area. A free bottle of water was also provided. Breakfast was very good being typical German-style and the two ladies who were there to help were also very pleasant. We were able to park our motorcycle under cover which we really appreciated. We would have no hesitation in returning to this guesthouse.

Herr Huber, war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Personal war immer anwesend.
Frühstücksbuffet hatte eine ausreichende Auswahl und sogar Speck zum Ei würde frisch zubereitet.

Amazing experience, I felt at home, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, everything was clean and the staff so helpful and kind! Definitely I will go back and recommend to everyone.

Dejligt gæstehus i udkanten af Oberammergau - fredeligt kvarter. Pragtfuld udsigt fra balkonen. Godt værelse. Serviceminded personale. Ingen aftensmad, men god og rigelig morgenmad og "høflig selvbetjening" af øl, vin, vand og kaffe/the. Vanskelige parkeringsforhold - men det gik da.
Vi har boet i Oberammergau adskillige gange, og Gästehaus Otto Huber kan klart anbefales.

We liked the location. It was a picturesque quiet area. You could use it as a base to travel to many great sites and hikes. The owner gave us a really nice welcome and the breakfast staff was very friendly.

Idylliskt alphotell. Dock var första intrycket i den rätt smala korridoren unket, tobaksrök hade etsat sig fast överallt. Frukosten var utmärkt!

We knew we were in the correct Gästehaus when Herr Huber told us, “Welcome to my home.” Rooms are tidy and clean, staff are friendly and welcoming, breakfast is excellent and location is perfect to everything in Oberammergau. We met one patron who has been coming to this Gastehaus since the mid 70’s. That is a great endorsement for this property.

The hotel was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. It has updated rooms but has the old world charm. My only issue was when going into the lobby it had the smell of cigarette smoke. This was only in the lobby.

Very well run family affair. Owner is amazing inn keeper and scholar. Again, only one complaint. Stairs! Steep and narrow. Not for elderly and or handicap.
