We had a great, great time at Masseria Mongiò. We booked one of the larger rooms, which featured two separate rooms with en suites and a small kitchen. We were travelling with my parents and this allowed us to be independent and have some privacy. The location is excellent: immersed in the countryside and literally just a few minutes from the beautiful beach of Baia dei Turchi.

Everything during our stay was perfect. The room is very practical, beautifully thought out and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is glorious, with a wide range of food that changes every day. And the pool is fabulous.

I want to single out two things. Food is exceptionally good: we stayed at the masseria for two dinners and the food was truly fantastic and very good value. But what really made our time at the masseria feel extra special was the staff: from the moment we arrived, everyone worked extra hard to make us feel welcome. They are very hard working, kind and welcoming, and very attuned to a guest’s needs - they do it all with great care and passion.

We couldn’t recommend this place enough and we are already thinking about going back.

Die Masseria liegt etwas abseits, was wir geschätzt haben, da es dort ruhiger war. Dennoch erreicht man Otranto in wenigen Minuten. Die Anlage ist schön eingerichtet, insbesondere die Poolanlage ist sehr gepflegt. Die Zimmer waren sauber und grosszügig gestaltet. Zu Fuss erreicht man die Baia dei Turchi, einen wunderschönen Strand, in nur 10 Minuten. Das Frühstück war gut und bot eine grosse Auswahl an frischen Produkten.

We could not fault our stay at Masseria Mongio. We got a lovely welcome from Ivan who gave lots of useful information. The beach is a short walk and beautiful though of course busy in August. The pool is gorgeous, large and spotless.
The whole hotel and room were also spotlessly clean and air con worked well when
Needed. All the staff were so friendly and genuine which really made the stay. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice and dinner was great but lots of options if you want in Otranto or on the way to Otranto by bikes which were plentiful and loaned by the hotel.

Amazing Experience! Since the begining Valentina was so kind and helpfull….. our room was perfect. i already want to come back.

The Masseria Mongiò was a place to relax and enjoy your time. There is absolutely nothing to complain about this place. The people are so friendly, it’s hard to believe it. The breakfast was served with the best local food available and dinner was outstanding too.
In this place, you really can feel a family atmosphere and all stuff are so helpful and very kind. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely and without doubt. Thank you for this experience.

We were originally supposed to visit Masseria Mongiò dell’Elefante in 2020, but because of COVID we had to postpone our trip. Six years later, we finally made it—and it was absolutely worth the wait.

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the beautiful Baia dei Turchi beach. We also loved that the hotel provided complimentary bikes, making it easy and enjoyable to cycle into Otranto.

One of the biggest surprises was the food. As a family of Italians and French who are quite demanding when it comes to quality and who enjoy healthy eating, our expectations were high. The cuisine exceeded them. Every meal was fresh, well-prepared and full of local flavour.

What made our stay truly memorable, however, was the people. Everyone—from the pool staff and the waiters and waitresses to the housekeeping team—was genuinely warm, professional and caring. A special thank you to Ivan, the lead concierge, whose kindness, humility and attention to detail made us feel incredibly welcome. People like him make a real difference and turned a great holiday into a special one.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and had a lovely terrace where we enjoyed watching the sunset each evening.

We visited in July, during an exceptionally hot week with temperatures reaching 35°C. Sightseeing during the middle of the day was difficult, so having both the beautiful beach and the excellent pool with attentive bar service made the experience even more enjoyable. Once the sun went down, the evenings became pleasantly cool and were simply magical.

Thank you to the entire team for your outstanding hospitality. We left with wonderful memories and hope it won’t take another six years before we return!

Staying at Masseria mongio dell'eLa fante was the highlight of our stay.
The staff was absolutely awesome, attending to all our needs. The grounds were immaculate as was the room. The food that was served, you never have to find a restaurant off ground. Every meal we ate was top notch, as good if not better than the top restaurants in Puglia.

Suítes amplas, iluminadas, limpeza excelente. Atendimento excepcional!

Oaza ciszy i spokoju. Świetna baza wypadowa na wycieczki do Otranto, Santa Maria di Leuca, Il Ciolo itd. Piękny basen i ogród. Bliskość lokalnych sklepów ze świeżymi owocami i warzywami, uprzejmy i pomocny personel - polecone wycieczki, restauracje były znakomite. Kilkuminutowe dojście do plaży. Bardzo dziękujemy

We stayed five nights in the Il Massaro Suite, which we got upgraded to for free because we were on our honeymoon. Such a lovely gesture. The suite was very charming, with a big private patio, living room with kitchen area, bedroom and a modern bathroom. The service was amazing from start to finish - the staff were doing everything they could to make sure we had a great time. We got a lovely welcome dinner the first night when we arrived, which was delicious. We didn’t have dinner there again because we were exploring nearby cities and also wanted to do some cooking ourselves and eat on the patio. The breakfast was also very good. From the hotel it’s just a short walk (about 8 minutes) to Baia dei Turchi - the most spectacular beach we have ever seen in Europe. Fine sand like powder and turquoise crystal clear water. The hotel have bikes you can use for free, and we went for a idyllic bike ride with them to see some nearby grottos. They also have a very nice pool, but we ended up going to the beach everyday since it was so lovely. We want to give the hotel our best recommendations.

My wife and I stayed for four wonderful days at Masseria Mongiò. After spending 5 days travelling through Puglia, this was a very welcome oasis of calm and rest. The welcome from Valentina, Ivan and the team was very warm and they were always available to help with any query. Clean, comfortable and well kitted out, with a beautiful new pool area, and only a few minutes walk to the scenic sandy beach. And the excellent food menu for both lunch and dinner was presented every morning at breakfast allowing a decision to be made whether to stay onsite or not. Full of local treats.
