Pros:

We only had one night in Hanoi, but Splendid Hotel and Spa was wonderful for what we needed. It’s in a great part of town in the Old Quarter, everything is very walkable. They set up a transfer from the airport which was very easy and convenient. The staff was wonderful, especially Hannah, Flora, and Bling. They had many recommendations for what to do in town. We also got a massage at the spa and it was the perfect end to our time here!

Heerlijk hotel om het mooiste gedeelte van Hanoi te ontdekken.
Pros:

Ontzettend vriendelijk personeel: thanks Hannah! En een ontzettende goede locatie, bijna aan het meer waar alles eigenlijk rondom gecentreerd is. Heel veel te voet te doen.

Cons:

Beetje harde bedden maar dat is vrij standaard in Vietnam

Pros:

Perfect location, closer to the lake and the old quarter. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Cons:

The only possible downside was that the pool was at a neighbouring hotel but the staff took us there so no hassle.

Booking pictures were very misleading and showed pictures of a pool and buffet breakfast that did not exist at this hotel.

One of the staff unlocked our door and walked in at midnight without warning, scaring my wife.

Bathroom very old and needs renovation.

It's dirty, noisy, no breakfast, no view, I asked for nice view and I got to look at the dirty Street! everything was the opposite from the website.

We love the convenient location. The two girls Hannah and Bling were just lovely. They were attentive, helpful and really tried their best to address issues raised during our stay. Sadly the property let them down.

Cons:

There was so many issues during our stay. Firstly, the hotel advertises that there is a pool and restaurant and display beautiful photos on their page but there is no pool onsite nor is there a restaurant. The motel is called Splendid hotel and Spa- there is no spa onsite either! Surely this is false advertising? The rooms are very small, so small in fact your coffee mugs are displayed on the toilet cystern!! The water is either scalding hot or freezing cold. At times our toilet didnt flush. The bedding and linen was old, stained and the pillows had no stuffing. The TV had poor reception at times didnt work at all. The lift was out of order one day leaving us to walk down 6 floors of stairs. This was beyond their control along with the electrical power cut but just added to an already stressful stay. The lift was an ongoing issue. On one night making loud clunking noises that sounded like gunshots. It was midnight!! Only means of contact WhatsApp and Hannah got a maintenance man to attend. He clearly turned the lift off as it stopped immediately upon his attendance. It was just one thing after another. How this property rates so highly is beyond us. It sounds like a completely different property. We were offered our airport transfer refunded, free laundry and mini bar if we didnt put a bad review on as there was so many problems during our stay. Clearly, this is why the property rates so highly.. book at your own peril.
