A haven in Galle
Pros:

The hotel was very stylish and well-appointed. The restaurant was top-notch and could serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The common areas were simply amazing, and I took a dip in the pool.

A beautiful hotel with so much charm. We would happily stay again.
Pros:

We loved everything about our stay at The Sun House. The location is perfect, central enough to explore Galle easily, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

The hotel itself is a beautiful colonial masterpiece, with so much character and every detail carefully considered. Our room was really comfortable, with a great sized bathroom, and the staff were attentive throughout our stay.

The food was also a highlight. Everything we ate was delicious, particularly the homemade granola and ice cream.

Cons:

If I had two small suggestions, it would be to add a mini fridge to the rooms and give the pool area a quick sweep in the mornings. Neither took away from our experience though.

Pros:

The property and the rooms were beautiful and the food was incredible. A lovely setting for evening cocktails and dinner. It was nice and quiet and just a 10 min walk into the fort area.

Pros:

Le personnel est attentionné. Il y a un restaurant ce qui est un vrai plus et l’architecture est magnifique.
Après l’avion, nous sommes allés directement à Galle et nous ne pouvions pas rêver mieux comme hôtel.

An elegant, traditional space that you will never forget. Perfect in every single way.
Pros:

Possibly the most beautiful, interesting and elegant property I’ve ever stayed. Our room was breathtaking and the entire hotel is stunning. Make sure to have a drink in their colonial intimate bar and eat at their incredible restaurant. The staff were so friendly and attentive while giving us space to enjoy and soak in our surroundings. I can’t wait to stay again. It’s a short walk/drive to Galle Forte and has beautiful views and a lovely breeze. The outdoor bathtub was amazing!

Absolutely outstanding hotel, definitely recommend
Pros:

A secluded, beautiful lush colonial house within 5-10 minutes walk of Galle fort and a quiet haven away from the bustle of the town. The house is bright airy beautifully decorated and made even more special by the very attentive and warm staff. The surrounding monkeys make good entertainment. The rooms are large elegant and have a sophisticated colonial feel with all modern conveniences except for a mini bar which is really not needed. Tea, coffee and water are available in the room at no extra cost. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the air con is most effective. The breakfast is very generous and served to the table, no buffet with a choice or either Sri Lankan or western style breakfast. The herbal drink served at breakfast has real kick and gives you a boost for the day. Dinner was delicious and despite a small problem with one dish this was quickly remedied by the chef who personally came to the table to ensure everything was to our liking showing a professional and caring attitude. The gardens and pool are gorgeous well maintained and picture perfect.

Cons:

Nothing really. Just need to ensure patio doors are closed and locked as some cheeky monkeys did try to get in🤣

Pros:

The property was exceptional! The house was an original with wonderful furnishings. It felt like a home away from home! Pool was on the small side, but thankfully only two other guests were using it. Rooms were so nice.

Would definitely stay here again. A beautiful retreat that we hope to get back to one day

Location was ideal. A short walk or tuk tuk to Galle Fort. Location was ideal as it felt away from the more touristy areas. Set higher up the hill in a very pretty residential area. Quiet and full of wildlife also. The house and its surrounds are one of the prettiest we have ever stayed in. Beautifully appointed and styled without being generic. Extremely comfortable, great staff and a great restaurant also

Pros:

The Sun House is truly one of a kind. It is the most gorgeous heritage building with lots of wildlife around (birds, monkeys, lizards)!

The staff were so attentive and kind and the food is incredible. You will not want to leave the hotel!
