Location great but lunch disappointing - friend had to return mussels as half of them hadn’t opened and my lamb was tough. Mussels were replaced with apology from the chef. However, we felt overall the meal was overpriced and pretty poor. We won’t be rushing back!
Room view staff
Weekends were quite expensive for me but staff were great
We were fortunate to be allocated Room 18, which must be the best in the hotel, with triple-aspect windows giving a view of the Dee. All the staff with whom we dealt were most courteous. We had dinner as well as breakfast and the food and service were very good. The location of the hotel is wonderful but the staff in no way let it down! We had a short but most memorable stay.
This is a superb hotel. Location is by the ricer and provides a very relaxing experience. Staff are excellent, facilities great and food was very good
Fancy place, stylish design
River view from room 1 is not exactly river view. Also people are walking right near your ground floor window, so you have to keep blinds closed

Fishing was poor,
Nothing
We have just returned from what I can only describe as an absolute shambles!
On arrival to the sitooterie, which we had been looking forward to as we had family visiting for the weekend!
We were shown to our shed, given menus & drinks were ordered.
We were then told after we had chosen our orders that the menu was unavailable and we were given a sandwich menu and an outside grill menu.
My son and husband picked the flatbread (£24) with pulled pork and a side of Mediterranean vegetables & potatoes which I may add came 10 mins after the flat bread, mmm I don’t think you would call it that it was basically a crispy tortilla wrap with a bit of sauce, a teaspoon of pulled pork and picked slaw ( a few bits of red cabbage). The other three main meals never arrived! Then, we noticed food items from the menu we were told was unavailable had been served to a table near us. Why?
They were apologetic and we were not charged for anything.
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely traditional hotel that truly exceeded my expectations.
Nestled in stunning grounds overlooking the River Dee, it offered such a serene and picturesque setting.
We booked a deluxe room, which was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable, and there was a cozy sofa perfectly positioned so we could enjoy the beautiful view of the river right from our room, complimentary water, tea and coffee making facilities, bath robes and slippers, however a mini fridge, to keep the water chilled, would just finish it off perfectly.
One of our favourite features was the lovely outdoor seating area. It was perfect for enjoying food and drinks while soaking in the fresh air and gorgeous scenery.
Breakfast was included, and we were pleasantly surprised by the great selection. There were cereals, a variety of hams and cheeses, fresh fruits, pastries and a cooked option that hit the spot every morning.
What really stood out , was the friendliness of the staff.
Every person we encountered was genuinely helpful and made us feel welcome. They really added to the overall experience, making our stay feel special.
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with lovely views and a taste of traditional charm, I highly recommend this hotel.
It's a gem!
Lovely location, comfortable room and excellent breakfast
Access to WiFi could be better
Everything was perfect!
Nothing!
Excellent facility in an excellent location
The hotel is in a great location on the banks of the river Dee. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast.
All was good.
We had a fantastic 4 night stay. Lovely large bedroom. Spotlessly clean.
All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The setting beside the river is stunning. Will definitely be back.
