It was very homely and we felt comfortable and very much at ease.
We waited for quite some time to be served dinner after ordering and at one point we thought we'd been forgotten about.
I thought the waiting staff could have been a bit more diligent in clearing away empty glasses from our dining table. They walked past several times and left them, despite us placing them at the end of the table to clearly show they were finished with.
Beautiful riverside hotel with some quirky decorative touches. The staff were exceptional, warm friendly and courteous. The restaurant menu was varied and tasty and food arrived quickly and hot. Easy walk to town ir sit and watch the river. Can provide packed lunch for more serious walkers. Perfect for a weekend retreat.
Not a fan of dogs in hotels generally and especially in restaurants, although the two present at the time were well behaved.
Clean comfortable room! Very quiet and relaxed. Lovely surroundings and large car park. Staff were friendly and welcoming and dinner had a varied and tasty menu
Only complaint was continental breakfast was very limited. Cooked breakfast was overcooked and dry.
Good location. Pretty hotel
Booked a king room with pull out sofa. Didn’t get a king bed nor a pull out sofa. Their solution was for us to purchase a second room at a discounted rate. We ended up with an uncomfortable z bed. They moved us the next day. We moved the pull out sofa in the new room and it was filthy underneath.
Breakfast staff the first day were not customer focused.
Smokers on our last night stood under the window and our room stank of smoke as we had the window open.
The area where you pour your breakfast juice could do with a very deep clean.
So disappointed as my husband worked there for years under the previous owners and we expected a much higher standard and better customer service.

Beautiful old Lodge.
A magnificent property located on the picturesque River Dee. The restaurant and bar were comfortable and food of quality. Our room was comfy and clean.
Nothing of note.
The dining was excellent. The scenery including the stream right outside the hotel was beautiful.
The bathroom shower was tub shower combo with a step. It wouldn"t be safe for anyone with any mobility issues, even mild.
The staff were very helpful, especially Stewart in receprion.
The situation by the river was lovely. Apart from the first evening the food was very good.
Our room was very poor for the amount of money we paid for it, the bathroom tiny, fortunately we were able to climb into the bath for the shower, others may not have been so able. The low energy lighting was so low I was unable to read my book. There was only 1 chair in the room and the hotel had no lounge to sit in.
