A magic of a place
Pros:

First thing-if you can-book room 6 with the balcany. The view is amazing
The staff is super friendly and helpful, the room is comfortable & the shower is very good

The Old Quay House Hayle
Pros:

The position of the lodge, the Saltings (the salt marches) with all the bird wildlife was quite exceptional. The decking area was a delight. The hotel was very well run, the staff were friendly and polite. The evening meals were good. Great to be able to catch the train from St Erth (about a 15min walk) into St Ives. The ride is beautiful.

Cons:

The room was a tad tired, it needs a bit of tlc especially the bathroom. No excuse for mould around the bath and tiles. However this would not putting me off staying in the future. The breakfast arrangements is a bit odd, nothing at the hotel. One walks up to Birdies a few minutes away. Excellent food.

Pros:

L'emplacement, la vue sur l'estuaire, les équipements et la propreté de la chambre.

Cons:

Pas de petit déjeuner (alors qu'il y a un restaurant), prix un peu élevé. Chaises longues de la terrasse inutilisables (mouillées et pleine de fientes).

Very Pleasant stay
Pros:

The view was exactly what we had hoped for, it was right on the Estuary, with excellent views. The location and layout of the place is excellent, and the restaurant was nice. The room was clean and pleasant however a little small, with a similar situation for the bathroom. Nice touch was cold water and fresh milk in the fridge every day.

Cons:

Small bathroom with shower at one end and toilet at the other with a very small sink in the middle. Pubs and restaurants nearby were a little awkward to get to on foot, with limited footpaths and busy roads, unfortunately, so felt a little isolated.

Pros:

Studio op begane grond met eigen ingang. Grote kamer.

Cons:

Locatie goed qua bussen maar niets in de buurt qua winkels. Geen ontbijt in het hotel, maar gelukkig op loopafstand een prima restaurant Birdies.

Ok, but it didn’t live up to the expectations
Pros:

The bed was very comfortable, however if one you moved the other was very aware as it was spongy mattress. The waitress for dinner was very helpful and the food was ok.
Birdies (not part of the hotel) was lovely for breakfast.

Cons:

We booked a sea room, but no sea arrived. Seems this only happens at very high tides, which we don’t have any during our stay. Also they say to keep the windows shut due to bugs from the marsh. The cabin was VERY small, the basin in the bathroom was so very small and not fit for its purpose, also zero soundproofing (I’ll leave that there).
I booked our room late, so had little choice but £330 for tiny tiny room or shed on a marsh with no breakfast seemed excessive.
