The staff and location.
Our double sea view room or ‘garden lodge’ as it was described, was in a block of 3 overlooking the tidal estuary. It was compact with en-suite compact shower room but very well equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits, coffee machine, fridge with milk and bottled water, bathrobe, iron and ironing board. It was nicely laid out, very clean and extremely comfortable. We had a great sleep! The owners had even provided an RSPB bird book and binoculars which as it is close the RSPB reserve with bird life outside your door you can sit at the bistro table and chairs and see what birds are nearby. There are bigger superior rooms available if you want more space. Our room was absolutely fine for our couple of nights. I noticed that when outside you can hear some road noise and of course the birds but inside the lodge you couldn’t hear anything so was very peaceful. Excellent little information book provided offering extras if needed like grab rails if unsteady and information on door widths etc. Not seen this before so was impressed by the thought put into this. No breakfast provided but Birdies bistro was about 5 mins walk and residents get 10% discount. St Erth railway is close by providing park and ride train to St Ives every half hour. All in all a great couple of nights stay whilst in the area.
Nothing.
I liked the estuary
Quiet location. Nice room with a bath. Good restaurant.
Sink much too small in tye bathroom.
Everything
Nothing To say
It was an enjoyable stay with nice rooms. Has a good evening meal with them. Sadly they do not provide a breakfast onsite though do offer a 10% discount at a local facility.
Great location with good facilities to relax
Stunning view of the tidal estuary from our room and shared patio
We really liked the location overlooking the wetlands nature reserve and its centrality as a base to explore. Our room was large and comfortable and we found our stay very relaxing.
The food in the restaurant was quite expensive for what it was.
Very good location
Room very cramped. No space for chairs. No breakfast available. Shower needed deep clean.
The location is beautiful. My second visit. Room. Was nice
Ideal location for watch the wildlife on the esterary.
Good size room, nice bed and shower.
Abit noisy and fridge is noisy.
Perfect location next to the estuary, and on a good day, it was a great spot for an evening drink or early morning coffee. Dinner was OK. Room comfortable and also located right on estuary.
We had a slight problem with the blinds in our room which we struggled to fix ourselves, and when seeking help from the hotel staff, it turned out they'd all gone home by 9:30pm - something which we weren't told about at check-in. Whilst we fixed the blinds outselves, any thoughts of a late night drink by the estuary were dashed. Room price was a little high also, possibly opportunisticly so due to the temporary heatwave, and hence I wouldn't consider it great value for money.
Local to everything
For £350 for two nights, this stay did not meet expectations. The “double bed” was actually two single beds pushed together, which was very uncomfortable. The WiFi was extremely poor throughout our stay. There was also no iron or ironing board in the room on arrival. Staff later provided an iron, but still no ironing board.
Additionally, the estuary shown in the property pictures had no water in it during our stay, which was quite misleading compared to the advertised images.
Amazing location, room was beautiful right at the front, restaurant staff were friendly and had a great sense of humour. Loved the coffee facilities.
No onsite breakfast facilities despite having a restaurant on site. Lots of cobwebs in the room.
