The Lanterns Hotel

We twijfelen of we moesten boeken gezien de rating hier, maar qua locatie kwam dit het beste uit, dus besloten we de gok te wagen. Geen verkeerde keuze. Prachtige grote kamer. Badkamer was wel zwaar gedateerd maar was schoon en alles functioneerde. Vriendelijke eigenaren en we hebben daar een heerlijke curry gegeten

The hotel was superb! The rooms were comfortable and spotless, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was truly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Staff were very friendly and it was excellent value for money. Breakfast was really tasty.

Wir vermuten dass das Hotel erst kürzlich übernommen wurde. Manche Abläufe waren nicht ganz perfekt. Insgesamt hat das freundliche und engagierte Personal das mehr als wett gemacht, Das enthaltene Frühstück bot mehrere Optionen und war reichlich. Die Speisekarte für abends bot interessante Variationen bis hin zu ausgezeichneten Curry-Gerichten.

A place is a bit strange and feels like a ghost house:) Sometimes there is a feeling like you are the only one in the hotel:)

Freundliches Personal. Durfte mein Motorrad hinter dem Haus sichtgeschützt abstellen. Zimmer-Upgrade auf ein größeres Zimmer erhalten. Zimmer ein wenig an den Kolonialstil erinnernd eingerichtet. Zimmer war sauber. Restaurant direkt im Haus. Sehr gutes Frühstück.

Nous avons réservé au dernier moment et avons été bien heureux de trouver le Lanterns hotel. J'ai lu bien sûr les avis avant de réserver, certains élogieux, d'autres très critiques. J'ai trouvé ces derniers injustes. La famille qui a apparemment acheté cet hotel abandonné il y a environ 8 ans a dû tout rénover, probablement de leurs propres mains et avec leurs moyens, mais l'hôtel est très grand, les chambres également, j'imagine, pour avoir rénové une vieille ferme viticole, le temps et l'engagement que cette famille y ont mis. Je les félicite donc, les encourage à parfaire leur rénovation, et leur souhaite que leurs efforts soient récompensés. Il semble que ce soit le cas car il y avait du monde lors de notre passage d'une nuit. Je les remercie pour leur accueil parfait, leur coolitude et leur sourire, l'excellent et presque trop copieux repas (nous l'avons choisi indien), et la très grande chambre fort agréable à l'arrière, donnant sur le jardin. Nous avons très bien dormi ! L'emplacement de l'hôtel est très pratique car nous avons pris le Shannon Ferry le lendemain matin pour continuer notre voyage vers le nord.

Staff friendly and helpful

Yes.on entering the premises the our side looked drab and dull . Inside the foya it was scarey with religious statues , I asked the receptionist what was that about and he said everyone? He escorted me to our room 110 unlocked the door with a key 🔑 the room had a double bed and a single bed. I noticed a smell of mold and damp. I was trying to turn on the TV but no remote 😐 so I tried manually and got nothing only crackling.
We went down to restaurant for dinner and asked the server about remote for TV . The management apologise and said that he would sort it out. Dinner was lovely but slow serving. Got back to our room and TV the same not sorted. The bathroom was dirty with mold every where on the tiles and floor.
The double bed was a large single very uncomfortable and the single bed was like a trampoline the noise was shocking. The mattress on both beds were moldy and dirty .Breakfast was good only on the beans was a fly 🪰 I nearly got sick. We went into Ballybunnion on Saturday for the day lovely .
On our return, I asked the boy at the reception for a drink at the bar and he said he was underage for serving ?? So I asked him was there anyone else there to serve and he said no, continues to play his game on his phone 🤔.
I went looking and found a bar man outside. We got out drinks . The manager came and said he had found remote for our TV. We got back to our room and TV was no better.

I loved everything: the comfortable room, the excellent breakfast, and the staff, who were all very kind and attentive.

Bett war ok, das war es dann aber auch...lieber nicht!
