I made the booking for a friend of mine , hoping it was a nice , easy and convenient place to stay for the night. From the start it was so difficult to find the hotel. I have been given a number to call (from Booking.com) but whoever was supposed to answer the phone was not answering. After multiple calls finally someone called me back and surprisingly been asked where got this number from. I have been questioned about who gives me the number so many times. However it was not a 24 hour reception so we had to call for someone to come and give us the keys for our room. The most annoying thing was the bathroom and the condition of the ceiling. Black and mouldy ceiling. After a quick shower in about 2 hours my friend left the hotel. I felt so bad for my friend and his wife. Not recommended at all.

Gutes Hotel für Zwischenstopp zwischen zwei Flügen vom Airport Stanstedt
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zu vielen Geschäften, Restaurants und Bars. Es ist vom Bahnhof in maximal 15min vom Bahnhof zu erreichen.
Das Hotel ist sehr einfach, aber für eine Übernachtung zwischen zwei Flügen völlig OK. Die Bahnfahrt vom Flughafen dauert 10min.
Das Bett war für zwei Personen sehr schmal, es gab keinen Föhn und Duschgel/Shampoo war auch bloß einmal vorhanden.
Nachts was es auch bei offenem Fenster und Fußball-WM sehr ruhig

Für eine Nacht kann man dort schlafen. Auf keinem Fall mehr.

Cheap and sufficient for a night before a flight
Pros:

Located well for a one nighter before a flight from Stansted, and pretty cheap. Staff helping check us in friendly enough but not much else positive beyond that unfortunately.

Cons:

Place felt very dated and smelt fusty.

The room didn’t really feel clean and seemed to lack some basic cleaning - dirty light switches and coffee stains on the wall. It was really hot and not their fault but had to have window open to make the temperature remotely bareable but then super loud until early hours as located on main high-street.

Great location, okay accommodation
Pros:

The location and the quiet atmosphere. We would come back again.

Cons:

An elevator would be appreciated - we were put on one of the upper floors and an older member of our party had a bit of a harder time. Will make sure to check next in with the hotel next time.

The lights were annoying - either all or nothing. No lamp available. I'd have loved to just put on a small, cozy light in the evening.

The bathroom could use a shelf to put things on. The heated floors were too hot, to the point of almost burning our feet.

A heritage hotel with modern comforts
Pros:

Our flight was delayed by Ryanair for 3 hours. Despite the hotel’s check‑in rules, the hostess was genuinely worried: she kept messaging me while I was still in the air and even met me in the lobby when it was already 3 a.m. Such dedication to her work is truly admirable. The room was surprisingly quiet, even with authentic wooden window frames. The structural elements carried a sense of noble antiquity — wooden beams paired with stonework, all seamlessly integrated into modern comfort. Add to that the cleanliness and a feeling of coziness you simply won’t find in contemporary hotels. Contrary to expectations, no ghosts disturbed my sleep. Highly recommended to visit with a Conan Doyle book in hand and imagine yourself as Dr. Watson: the silence and seclusion practically invite a crime to be solved :)

Cons:

No nocturnal ghosts showed up — perhaps they took the night off, or were simply too shy :)
