Wonderful staff, nice location very clean nice to sit outside Love looking in the river
Limited choice for breakfast, reasonable quality but cooked meal only yoghurt pastries, toast cereals, et cetera
Friendly welcoming staff, and lovely room
Great value for money where the staff were super friendly and helpful. Food excellent.

The Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious.
The Evening meal was fantastic, staff where friendly and helpful.
Comfortable beds and everything was spotless in the room.
The stair carpet could do with a clean or replacing, a handrail would be good as the stairs are quite steep.
Great food and beer garden. Sports on the TV and a pool and darts area. Rooms were good.
The heat it was a hot room and the provided fan made more noise than actual air movement. The windows couldn't be opened as the river rapids were roaring.
It was nice and modern, very friendly and accommodating. Happy to help with bike and kit. I was travelling by bike so had a fair amount of stuff.
Food was really good. Great little outside terrace by the river too
Ideally placed for us to continue further north. Food is good and the room was excellent. Nice walks nearby - Dalbeattie Town Woods is great.
Great food, very helpful staff, friendly bar. Free parking opposite the hotel
Nothing
The bar downstairs really is a highlight. Great staff, great food and drink, and the terrace by the river is beautiful. There was karaoke on when we stayed and we had a brilliant night.
In the twin room the shower was in the bedroom, which was a bit intimate! It was all good though, no real complaints
Friendly staff comfortable bed
Very hot in the room
Nice property by the river. Very pleasant staff. Good food for dinner and breakfast.
Stairs to the room a bit grubby.
The staff were very helpful.
I would have preferred a bit more privacy regarding the design of the bathroom.
Our room was nice and clean, with comfy bed. Nice breakfast (unless you are super hungry, get the small one - it's still a lot to eat!)
Most of the staff members were really very nice, helpful, cheerful, which is a nice change from what seems to be the new normal now.
The worst:
There is a bar/pub right below the rooms. Which can get quite busy. We were provided earplugs (great) but unfortunately, these don't help against i) loud music (especially the drums/bass line) and ii) drunk people jumping up and down and/or repeatedly hitting things against tables/walls/whatever (which vibrated through the whole building, or so it seemed). If you are sensitive to these things, better go elsewhere.
Minor things:
The pillows are of the flat, not-that-great variety. There were little signs of wear and tear, nothing big (and still flawlessly clean) but could use a handyman.
