Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Hendersonville SE - Flat Rock by IHG

Looking out at the highway not so great but can’t have everything. It is also not insulated well, I could hear the people above me stomping and talking along with my neighbors and the other neighbor was the elevator, (that was fun). But it didn’t put a damper on our overall trip just something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper or sleeping is your main objective.

A little sleep sounds (at the highest volume on my phone) saved the day, or should I say…the night🤭.

Shower door broken and leaking refrigerator

Due to the outage, the wifi never worked, which was a bummer because I'm working on my dissertation and needed to connect. Even my mobile hotspot wouldn't work there. But that's not the hotel's fault. Things just happen.

No problems

The internet had been out since the previous Monday, no message was sent making us aware. When we checked in they took a copy of my ID and my card I put on file. I was hesitant to let them make a copy of my card but had no choice as the other hotels in the area didn't have rooms available. The breakfast was sub-par. They ran out of alot of items so we only had breakfast 1 day and the other we just went out to breakfast. We picked the hotel for the included breakfast, pool and location.

This property is located at an interstate intersection so there is LOTS of road noise! Worse is the pool is on the highway side, while 2 other sides are lovely woods. The pool would have been much more enjoyable and relaxing if placed elsewhere.
They have 2 EV charging stations with 2 chargers each, for a total of 4 charging plugs. Of the 4, only 1 worked. The other 3 had prongs so bent I worried they would damage my car! I tried them anyway (before I noticed the chargers on the back of each station). Only the charger with the rubber around the prongs worked. I mentioned this to the front desk, who acknowledged the issue. Too bad they didn’t warn me in advance when I asked where the chargers were located!!!
The internet was down my entire 2-night stay (I had 2 one-night reservations), so front desk staff had to escort guests to their rooms and use the pass key to open the door. Every time. Luckily, they didn’t seem to have many bookings as I only had to wait my turn twice in two nights. All staff were very nice and accommodating, however, no discount was offered for this inconvenience.

Internet was down, so no way to issue room keys. Had to be escorted to room by staff who had a master key. No offer of discount for inconvenience.
I requested a room with a tub, but was given a shower. The front desk clerk looked on a map of the hotel to try to figure out which rooms had tubs. She got it wrong, but considering the internet outage, I let it slide.
This property is located next to interstate 26. Lots of loud road noise! Pool is on the highway side, so road noise is maximum. Seventy five percent of the EV charging stations didn’t work. The prongs in 3 of the 4 plugs were so bent, I worried they would damage my car! I tried them anyway (out of desperation). Only the plug with its protective rubber housing still intact worked. It was on the back of the charging station, so I didn’t see it at first. Look carefully before plugging into your car!
