Pros:

Absolute fabulous stay and staff couldn't do enough to make us comfortable, especially Saranga . Well worth the visit .

Their breakfasts, also know as the breagustation are locally famous .

Fun and quirky place to stay
Pros:

This is a fun and stylish place, with lots of quirky pleasures including the degustation breakfast served on beautiful old plates, the thermos of tea delivered early to the bedroom door and the witty design throughout. If you get a good room the place is very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there’s a real pride in the traditions the place is creating. The location near the end of the fort is lovely.

Cons:

Our first ground floor room (queen studio) was both small and noisy - you could hear the kitchen, the cafe, the street. We were moved when we raised the issue and the first floor room was much nicer - even though it ran out of water mid morning and left us heading out without having had a shower. Other thing to note is that the plunge pool doesn’t really look plausible as a place to actually use - it’s about the same size as the fishpond next to it. If you want to cool off in a pool another place might be better.

Pros:

Prince of Galle is a beautiful hotel in the middle of Galle Fort. The attention to detail, the hospitality, the rooms, the staff - everything made our 3 night stay one we will never forget. Special shoutout to Saringa, Geetha and Kapila for looking after us! The 5-course breakfast is an experience of its own. Thank you for a truly amazing time!

A hotel run with love
Pros:

Beautiful colonial stylish converted stables inside the Fort . We liked the Welcome, (incredible ice tea) the exceptional breakfast (5 course “breagustation”) and the coffee tray outside the room. From the Morris Minor outside to the sunset on the roof terrace, it’s done with love. Rooms are compact but beautifully designed, very comfortable bed. It is a property full of eye candy and the perfect stay for the last 2 nights of a 3 wk holiday to get a colonial feel for Sri Lanka.
I would love to stay again!

Location, building and room was beautiful. The iced tea on arrival was delicious and the staff went out of their way to help us with anything and everything

Cons:

Dance music playing in the bar all day. It really ruined the vibe and was not fitting with the venue. It also made it difficult to sleep when resting in any of the downstairs rooms.

Pros:

Prince of Galle Hotel was exceptional—beautifully decorated, spotless, and staffed by a team that was outstanding from the moment we checked in.
Each morning began with tea and coffee served outside your room, followed by a five-course dégustation breakfast, which was a highlight of our stay.
In the evenings, a grand piano played on the second level from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, creating an atmosphere that felt true to the hotel’s original glory days.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

A beautiful stay to remember
Pros:

I absolutely loved the whole design of this stay, such beautiful interiors and homely settings. No ask is ever too much for the attentive staff and it's tucked away peacefully just a short stroll from the main streets of Galle. The breakfast is a must, exceptional!
