Wonderful location - a stones throw from our office off Lemon St and shops. Comfy beds and warm room. Lovely continental breakfast with gorgeous croissants. Charming staff. Late checkout agreed and luggage storage.
Rather a lot of stairs and no lift. Television hard to operate. Water in the bathroom red hot. But the virtues make up for all of this. Great place to stay.
The quality was obvious from the moment we stepped through the doors. A beautiful foyer and friendly reception staff were waiting to greet us. The room was lovely with absoloutly everything you could need supplied. All of the staff were super friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious with so much on offer, you could also upgrade to a hot breakfast which my partner did and found it to be good quality and delicious. The hotel location is fantastic with the shops and markets just a short walk away.
The bar and restaurant close on a Sunday and Monday after breakfast. This is in the hotel information so I could have looked elsewhere but chose not to when I booked as there are plenty of pubs in the area, I just like the convenience of everything where I an staying. There was a slight smell of frying in our room as I think we were located next to the kitchen ventilation which seemed to fire up around 6.30 but went off around 9 so the slight noise from it did not interrupt any sleep.
Everything
Nice shower
Thin bedding, low ceilings, a bit tatty.
comfort and cleanliness - very upbeat staff
1 night stay. Clean room, helpful staff, nice cosy bar too.
Location of hotel very good and the room itself was extremely comfortable.
The breakfast was disappointing. Choice could have been better. Apparently cheese was no longer part of the breakfast menu. Also it was not a balanced breakfast, very little protein, if any.
Furthermore whilst the hotel cost included breakfast it only applied to a continental one. A hot (fry-up) breakfast was originally listed as being an additional £15.00 per person per day. Taking advantage, methinks and we didn’t bother. The bistro across the road was only charging £11.50 and doubtless the JDW nearby would be much less.

Central in Truro CIty .Safe and secure parking comfortable and clean room .
Everything was OK for me .
Stayed here to catch up with friends, the hotel is centrally located in Truro town centre with secure onsite parking. The building is a lovely historic building which has been sympathetic modernised, made very welcome by all staff from reception to housekeeping to breakfast/bar and restaurant staff. Room is well equipped with everything you need for a stay, lots of socket and charging points, even a place for us ladies to allow hair straightening equipment to cool. Bathroom was very large with walking shower and a very large bath and lovely soft towels. Restaurant has a small but varied menu and the prices are reasonable and the food is tasty and well presented. The hotel has no lift so if you have any difficulty with walking up and down stairs I would request a lower floored room. Even though the hotel is centrally located the only noise you occasionally hear is the local gulls.
Two very small negative the air heating in our room did not work and the duvets are very thin/low tog so on a cold night we were very cold. Supplied with a heater by housekeeping so a cosy warm 2nd night, discussed with the hotel and this will be addressed.the other is none constant breakfasts, the offer continental breakfast with room rate and cooked options at an additional charge. On day one I paid for beautiful bacon sandwich with what tasted like home made bread well worth the extra charge. Day two ordered again , but so different bread came out with what looked like toasted bacon sandwich, but on bitting in it was a fried bread swimming in grease and burnt on one side so not very appealing, I didn’t make a complaint as they had already messed up one order on our table, so just put it down to the chef/waiter having a bad day
Staff were really friendly and professional
Only downside was no lift so if you do need a room on a.lower floor ask
Close to town, good car park and comfortable bed
Room was too hot for me. Had to switch heating off and open windows. Light from the corridor came into my room at night. Very loud doors closing around 4am.
We use this hotel whenever we come to see a show as it’s really Close to the Hall for Cornwall, with plenty of places to eat & drink nearby. Parking included & a nice continental breakfast.
Probably need an upgrade to Kingsize beds as the doubles are a bit snug but not really a big deal just a suggestion
Staff and food excellant
Pillows and bed not very comfy. New mattress would be better.
