The Kempton Hotel

Very unique hotel, beautiful and comfortable, well kept up. Friendly staff.

We were supposed to get pastries or continental breakfast, we only got coffee. The area around the property was very run down. Everything was closed down and felt desolate and depressed.
The owner was kind but we didn’t meet him until right when we were leaving.

Fine for a one night place to sleep

The staff member was great. We chose this place for its historical factor. Our only downfall was the hotel lost power overnight and without ac the room got hot. Otherwise its a great place to visit.

Just what we were looking for... It exceeded our expectations.

We arrived at the hotel before they received the reservation notice from Expedia; therefore did not have our reservation but made room for us and gave us an upgrade with our own bathroom. Very nice and accommodating!! Friendly staff and very clean hotel and rooms with a lot of interesting history :)

In a charming small town off interstate 94, the Kempton Hotel offers friendly staff, a good nights sleep and a no frills continental breakfast. Walking distance to Legion hall for cocktail and dinner, and to Evelyn Cameron gallery and county historical museum.

Not what i expected share bathroom and showers!

This hotel is quaint and has character. I would have liked to be able to open my room’s window but was sealed shut in order to hold an air conditioner, the output of which was pretty feeble. The front-desk person was very nice and hospitable and she had a large restaurant-style pot of hot coffee ready before 6:00am, which I greatly appreciated as I departed early.

Lovely stay in an historic hotel! The owner was so friendly & the bed was very comfortable.

Old classic, great staff friendly and knowledgeable

Charming historic hotel that was quiet and clean.

I have been staying with my little miniature schnauzer at the hotel, for eight years now. I have always felt safe and comfortable there, even with having to use a shared bathroom and shower. The staff is friendly and I always sleep very well. Unfortunately, I will not be staying at the hotel any longer, as the pet fee at $35 has become too exorbitant for me to afford, on a fixed income.

What an absolute gem of a property! I love everything about this hotel. It's been beautifully updated but also retains its century-old charm. The staff is wonderful, the bed and linens perfectly comfortable. Will stay here every time I pass through this part of Montana.

It was nice to stay in a different type of lodging than just another hotel. Felt like I was staying upstairs at a relatives house. The lady working the desk was kind in a very natural way.

Unique that it is so old and full of history

Wonderful old hotel as advertised. Needs some TLC but I believe they are working on it. Lots of clutter though, that distracts from the charm. Stacks of newspapers and magazines where one or two would be sufficient, every wall surface covered in photos making it feel busy & distracting. If you love old buildings and history though, the Kempton is great b
