My husband and I booked time in the hot cold therapy area, and were absolutely impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the facilities - definitely an upscale experience. The owner Tally and her son were great hosts, we enjoyed chatting with them. We will definitely return next time we are in Nosara. Highly recommend!

We've stayed at Moana 4 times now (and my husband is returning for a fifth time this summer), we fell in love the first time we went and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Nosara. We love the community and family vibe here - everyone is so welcoming, warm and friendly. It's like home - but with sun, surf and glorious sunsets. The breakfast is off the charts - far better than some of the award-winning hotels we've stayed at. It's very laid back, so if that's your style, you'll love it too. Most people that visit have been coming here for years and it's been lovely to bump into old friends when we go back. I honestly don't think there are enough stars in the world to describe how much we love it here!

I opened the first cold plunge space in Nosara and over the past few years more and more have opened up. This is hands down the best place for contrast therapy in Nosara! The setting is so relaxing - the temperature of the sauna and the cold plunge are perfect and the hosts Danny and Tally are the kindest people. The candlelit experience was a 10/10 and I will absolutely be back!

This place is everything that Nosara is known for! Everything was perfect, direct access to the beach, wonderful hosts, yummy nourishing breakfast, clean comfortable room. All around a really calming way to melt into the blue zone. We are already dreaming of when we will be lucky enough to return to Moana.

The hospitality and welcoming nature of the owners was unparalleled. It almost felt like we were staying with close friends. Delicious breakfast spread every morning and a minute walk to one of the most incredible beaches I’ve ever visited. The whole place is like a beautiful perfectly manicured garden. Go surfing, relax in hammocks by the pool, walk on the beach, go into town for food and drinks. This place is paradise.

I had a very a very good experience there, they teach surfing really well. Even though I was a beginner Mujid helped me a lot with surfing lessons. Recommend to go here to learn surfing even if you have never surfed before.

We just spent a week at Moana and loved it!! It’s a small little boutique type hotel, with a few units and a shared pool, and it is literally a 1-minute walk to the beach, it has its own path to the beach, which is very unique in Nosara. The owners Danny and Tali are super chill, and warm and welcoming, and add to the unique charm of the place. There was always amazing music playing. The villa we stayed in was great, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with plenty of room for a large family. It was very clean, good bathroom, with a great shower with strong pressure. The bed was super comfy. Wifi and AC worked well. There was an amazing breakfast served each morning which was lovely, and all the staff were super friendly and aimed to please. The location of Moana is also superb, not only walking distance to the beach, but also very close, just 4-5 min walk to everything in the main Giones town. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Moana, I would highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed. We are already looking forward to going back.

Tali and her husband were super helpful before, during, and after our visit (their recommendations for restaurants were "spot on"). The resort sits right on one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed (a great bed and pillows are a must for me!), and breakfast was delicious - something for everyone. The wonderful surf instructors were not only wonderful with our 3 teen'ish grandchildren during their official lessons, but they later played soccer on the beach and chess under the pavilion when the kids were not in the water. We can't wait to return.

We absolutely loved our stay at Moana. It was better than we had even hoped for! The grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained. The hosts were so gracious- ready to help with any request and so very thoughtful. We had early morning surf lessons scheduled so they even held our delicious breakfasts past the scheduled serving time. We came from our lessons to discover the table set and all the delicious food we could ask for. And they did this without us even asking. This is how it was at every turn. There was a huge supply of surfboards available for use, a private path down to the beautiful beach and wonderful lounges and hammocks for use around the hotel. We highly recommend and look forward to visiting again!

Beautiful location with wonderful staff. Excellent beach and easy access to shops / restaurants.

Staff is incredibly helpful. . .anything you want in the way of excursions, rentals, transportation, or general information they will take care of arranging at no cost (though the excursion via a separate entity will have a cost) Bicycles and surfboards, beach chairs and beach umbrellas are available for use at no cost. There is a weight room sharing space with the yoga studio that is not mentioned on the website and that was a wonderful surprise. Breakfast is amazing and the hostess is always present to assist you in planning your day. Rooms and entire grounds are extremely clean. Even the two cats which live on the property add charm. Hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach via a private path. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, and the Tuktuk stand is less than 200 yds away for farther journeys. The only negative is that the roads are unpaved and can be rough or muddy during the rainy season but after the first day a seasoned traveler adjusts their footwear or transportation accordingly. All in all we would love to go back someday.

We spent a week at Moana for our first time this year and it was an incredible experience. The location is incredible, just around the corner from the happening spots but off the main road so very quiet. A private path to the beach through the jungle, surfing lessons and board rentals, a lovely pool and an exercise area were all appreciated. The best thing about Moana though is the staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. From the owners to the housekeeping staff. We felt we were surrounded by friends our entire stay. Highly recommend Moana for your stay in Nosara.

AMAZING! Can’t wait to come back

My family of 3 stayed at Moana for a week. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully designed. Giant windows that were easy to open and close, comfy beds with quality linens, beautiful bathroom with stocked with locally made toiletries. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/utensils though we only made margaritas ☺️ a private outdoor space with lounger to watch the humming birds, pizote and other wildlife. Breakfast daily was delicious and plentiful, and they’ll make you something else if you want something different! The staff at Moana goes above and beyond. Genuinely kind, warm and accommodating. We loved the access to guiones for our twice daily surf sessions. The hotel is walking distance to several restaurants/cafes for other meals. Moana was a splurge for us but well worth it! We hope to return someday!

Amazing stay “home away from home”. Space and amenities were extremely comfortable while being homey. Everything was extremely well thought out. Hosts were so warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back

We had planned to stay 5 nights but were so taken with this hotel and Nosara that we ended up staying 9. Our room (the Eco) was clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable with a full kitchen. The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained with easy access to the beach down a private path. The included breakfast is generous and delicious. There’s a good selection of surfboards for rent (foamies, longboards, funboards) on site. Restaurants and stores are an easy 5 minute walk. The owners and staff are kind and gracious, happy to book surf lessons, dinner reservations, massage, etc. We will be back!
