Pros:

Probably the best hotel in Shirahama. 5 min walk from the beach. Clean, large property. Pool area is fantastic if you have kids and the rooms are large. Bonus point for the Onsen on the last floor with view of beach and sunset. I do not recommend the food. Looks terrible.

Very nice room which was spacious and clean. Fast Wifi and nice view from the Onsen from the top floor.
Unofortunately the pool is at the backyard side of the hotel with not a nice view and environment and in the front there is a parking lot from the hotel. Swapping those would be much better. The beach is 5 mins away but with pretty much elevation.

夏のプールはタオル使い放題で最高です。小さい子用の40cmくらいのプールもあって、プールサイドでアルコールもピザも頼めます。
ホテルから飲食店街までは少し離れていて小さい子供がいたら歩くと遠いです。

缺點：

Pros:

The hotel has very obviously a cleanliness problem. Public bath, elevators, lobby, everywhere dirty and some dirt, rubbish, towels, etc in the way. Lots of staff nearby, but they do not care. General manager must have issues.

Can’t miss full-service hotel, minutes from the airport and beach
Pros:

The Nanki-Shirahama Marriott was a full-service, centrally located hotel that I would recommend to anyone traveling in the area. A 7 minute taxi ride to the airport and 5 minute walk to the pristine beach, shops and restaurants make this hotel a fantastic choice. The hotel itself is a bit dated, however, rooms, the fitness center and lobby lounge were updated. The breakfast buffet served high quality and a variety of food. Laundry services on site allowed for ease and convenience as well. The pool does not open until July 1 (clearly stated on the hotel website), which was disappointing given the high temperatures and summer heat arriving earlier this year. The lobby lounge was well-equipped and they showed value to Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program members - thank you for that!

sehr schlechte Lage zum Strand muss mann jedesmal ein Berg erglimmen, 4 Sterne renommiertes Hotel aber kein smart TV, und egal ob 30 Grad der Pool wird nicht aufgemacht bin sehr enttäuscht von diesem Hotel

Unser Eindruck war, dass das Gebäude und besonders die Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen waren. Die Lobby war schön und gepflegt, aber die Zimmer waren hingegen fast schon zu normal eingerichtet. Das Bad roch dauerhaft nach abgestanden Wasser und der Bereich der Badewanne wirkte nicht gut altmodisch. Auch die Belüftung half nicht bei dem Geruch.
Der "Gartenblick" zeigte nur wenig Garten mit der kleinen Kapelle und einem nicht wirklich einladenden Pool. Besonders stach dann der matschige zusätzliche Parkplatz hervor (für unteranderem Bussen) und natürlich die Stadtkullisse.
Das Zimmer war leider sehr hellhörig. Es schien eine Verbindungstür zu geben und die Nachbarn waren deutlich zu hören.
Ansonsten war das Zimmer sehr groß. Wenig Ablagefläche.
Personal war immer zuvorkommend. Sie halfen uns unteranderem beim Gepäck. Was störte war das drängeln auf eine Mitgliedschaft bei Marriott.
Irreführend war zum Beispiel die Angabe bei der Bar, dass diese nur für Marriott-Mitglieder nutzbar ist, was auf Nachfrage nicht zu stimmen schien.

スタッフさんたちが皆さんフレンドリーで、ああ、いいところにたびに来たなと思えて、すごく良かったです。

食事も、とても美味しく、スパのマッサーの技術も一流でした。さすが、マリオットだと思いました。また、泊まりたいです。

Felt like being transported back to the 1950’s. If you like lots of kids, this is your hotel. Hotel was clean and staff were great. Shirahama an unusual destination.

普段は温泉地でもビジネスホテルを利用するので、今回外資系高級リゾートホテルに宿泊して違いを実感した。
