It was superb. Arrived for Sunday lunch about 5 pm and it was one of the nicest roast dinners I have had. Wife agreed!
Accomodation was also superb, with a lovely room with aircon. Spotlessly clean and really impressed. Bed was sooo comfy
Staff were very attentive and the breafast( included) was beautiful. Freshly cooked and couldnt fault it. Value for money was amazing. The Harbour Hotel down the road was twice the price. We visited that hotel and had a lovely drink on the patio over looking the sea but other than that .. no comparison. Thank you The Bear of Burton... and will definitely return

Room. Nothing like picture and very small.
As a coeliac, the menu was not adequately labelled and choices for me were limited with staff not properly understanding what was gluten free ( my breakfast arrived with breaded hash browns )
Small details, so day two we had no fresh milk in our fridge, some of the younger staff needed more support and not enough staff at breakfast.
Stylish rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was really good and we did enjoy the pub/restaurant with board games provided. Felt very relaxing overall. We will certainly go back.
The air-condition in our room was a bit noisy There was a good fan as well so not major issue but in a very hot day it may not be very efficient.
Staff were very welcoming, extremely helpful and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble.

Conveniently situated- nice decked area and great for parking g.
Lack of air con- although we were given the option to cancel we proceeded aswe did think there would be more fans available.
Good location short drive to Christchurch plenty of outside seating and nice relaxing seating inside. Great choices on the breakfast and dining menu. Our bedroom was spacious, and had a great walk in shower. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Sehr geschmackvoll, individuell mit ein paar Antiquitäten eingerichtete Zimmer. Großes und bequemes Bett. Kleines Bad, aber mit großer Dusche, aus der viel heißes Wasser kommt.
Im Pub/Restaurant verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten, unter anderem in einem als Bibliothek sehr gemütlich eingerichteten Raum. Das Essen dort war sehr gut und das Bier schmeckte ausgezeichnet.
Außerdem gibt es eine sehr große Terrasse, wenn man draußen essen oder trinken möchte.
Zum Frühstück kann man continental essen, aber auch verschiedene andere Möglichkeiten einschließlich full englih breakfast.
Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb von Christchurch und ziemlich nah an einer Bahnlinie, wo aber nur ab und zu ein Personenzug vorbei fährt. Empfindliche Ohren könnten auch die etwas entferntere Hauptstraße hören.

We were warned well before our stay that air-con in our room was not working but the hotel provided a Dyson fan which worked well. (They had tried v hard to get it fixed the day before we arrived. Not their fault).
We were given a generous credit against the restaurant dinner bill.
The Bear at Burton was in a great location in Christchurch in an 18 century manor house with bags of space. We loved it straight away and it only got better. We met friends there and the food was really excellent and my Beef Roast was the best one I had had in along time. We were booked in overnight as we were seeing family next day and our friends were going to book themselves in there for a break. The only downside was there were no lifts, but the staff helped us up with our cases.
