La plage privée, la piscine et les activités proposées (paddle, kayak, etc..) offrent un cadre vraiment exceptionnel ! On ne se lasse pas de cette vue.

The view is breathtaking, which makes the experience even more disappointing.

We booked expecting a luxury hotel experience, but our family apartment is around 150–200 metres from the hotel facilities, with no room service. For a family of five, we received only four pool towels and no bathrobes.

The arrival was equally disappointing: we were taken with our luggage through a basement area and simply directed towards the apartment.

Unfortunately, when we raised our concerns, the manager seemed more interested in defending the hotel than listening to us or finding a solution.

A beautiful property, but for families staying in the separate apartments, the experience simply does not justify the price.

Emplacement magnifique. La vue sur le Lac est incroyable. La Plage privée est très très agréable . Elle permet de bien profiter du lac . Le restaurant de la plage est très bien , les plats sont bons et le personnel très agréable . Même chose pour le personnel de la réception . Très bon accueil et très professionnel.

Wonderful experience. We stayed in a two story villa that I was originally concerned about but ended up being perfect. The air conditioning was fantastic, the rooms were clean and they provided water everyday. Location was great - 5 miles outside Bellagio. The hotel was quiet with a good blend of families and couples. The pool was great and the beach - although rocky- had a ton of great cabanas. There were only two slight area for improvement - the elevator was out on the first day and the breakfast was not impressive with very little to eat.

The restauraunt, staff & ameneties at this location are fantastic!! We always enjoy our time here, and intentionally book this hotel when we come back to Italy.

The property is undoubtedly beautiful, and the location is absolutely stunning. We stayed in one of the apartments located in a separate building next to the main hotel. The apartment itself was rather basic in terms of décor (nothing like the more elegant, design-oriented style of the hotel) but it was spacious and offered breathtaking views over Lake Como. We especially loved the large terrace overlooking the lake.
The swimming pool and private beach were both very enjoyable, especially during the extremely hot days of summer 2026. The large private parking area (available for an additional fee) was also very convenient.
Unfortunately, what really leaves a bitter taste is the service, which was simply unacceptable for a property in this price range. Much of the staff seemed poorly trained, disorganized, and at times unmotivated.
Neither check-in nor check-out felt particularly warm or welcoming. At Filo restaurant (where we had both breakfast and dinner, and found the food to be just ok), as well as at the beach club, there was very little attention paid to the guest experience. We experienced endless waits just to receive a menu, dishes were served without any explanation of what they contained, and overall there was a constant sense of confusion.
I noticed that many of the employees were very young and probably in their first hospitality jobs. I don't want to blame them, because they genuinely seemed to be doing their best and were always friendly and smiling. The real responsibility lies with the management, who should be properly training the staff and ensuring they have the basic information needed to assist guests, something that clearly isn't happening, or at least isn't being done effectively.
I understand that Lake Como is famously expensive, but if you want to position yourself in the luxury segment, you also need to provide a level of service that matches the prices you charge.

The location of Hotel Filario is amazing. Lake Como is stunning, and the view from our room was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives mostly ended.

On arrival, we were welcomed by a very professional receptionist, but she was the only staff member during our stay who seemed experienced and well-trained.

Our first night was terrible because the room was extremely dusty. There were spider webs, spiders, and bugs in several corners, and even the ventilation was full of dust. We reported it the next morning, and while it was cleaned afterwards, this should never have been the condition of the room when we arrived.

The room also had other issues. The lighting was so dim that the five mirrors were almost useless, and the air conditioning clearly wasn’t working properly. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. Most days the room was cleaned poorly, except on the last day when it finally looked like someone had taken the job seriously.

Breakfast was a real letdown. For a hotel that charges these prices and presents itself as a luxury hotel, it felt more like a two-star breakfast than a four-star experience.

The restaurant staff were excellent and were by far the best part of our stay next to the lady at day one check in . Unfortunately, the reception staff after check-in came across as undertrained, uninterested, and sometimes even arrogant. The checkout experience was especially disappointing: no eye contact, no “How was your stay?”, just taking the payment and handing over the bill. I wanted to mention the issues, but it was obvious there was no interest in hearing them.

I also noticed that previous reviews on google and tripadvisor mentioned the same problems in Room 303 and the problems regarding undertrained staff members.. this doesn’t seem to be a one-off.

For the price, the quality of this hotel is simply not worth it. The views are incredible, but they don’t make up for poor cleanliness, disappointing service, and an underwhelming overall experience.

Hotel Filario exceeded every expectation and was the perfect place to experience the beauty of Lake Como. From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay unforgettable. They anticipated our needs, provided wonderful local recommendations, and always greeted us with a smile. Their concierge’s service was incredible. They managed all our bookings for boats, private car transfers and dinner reservations.

The hotel’s location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of Lake Como from nearly every angle. Waking up to the peaceful water and surrounding mountains each morning was unforgettable. The property is elegant, modern, and impeccably maintained, creating a luxurious yet relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in the apartments to accommodate our family of four and it was perfect.

The private waterfront, beautiful pool, and easy access to the lake made it the perfect place to unwind. Whether we were enjoying breakfast overlooking the water or relaxing by the lake in the afternoon, every moment felt special.

Location and ease to get a water taxi from the hotel jetty

I booked 3 nights during the San Giovanni festival. the view was amazing, the hotel section has large modern wonderful rooms. the food was great, the staff wonderful. My first Italian lake experience could not have been better and we will be re booking.
