Very nice stay, breakfast was superb! Had Sunday lunch too, which I would recommend. Staff very friendly and helpful

Relaxing experience
Pros:

Overall the public bar area, outside area and bedrooms were well presented and spotless. Great choice for breakfast all members of staff were polite and helpful. Great location. Parking in multi storey, which is just around the corner, cost us £13.90 for 24 hours. Very reasobable

Cons:

Nothing to dislike really.

Good location but not value for money

Cons:

Very overpriced for the fact that we didn’t get any sleep either night. The walls were so thin and we were just unlucky that the person next door both nights intermittently between 11:30 and 4:30 was going in and out of their room and slamming the doors. Also we locked ourselves out of the room and it took 30 minutes to get back in. The manager had to come in from home which was really kind of him and we appreciated this but surely there should just be some sort of master key. They also never asked for any ID to get back into our room which is a bit of a security issue. All in all good location and decent facilities but overpriced for the experience we had.

Rock hard bed
Pros:

The location was excellent, very central.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.

Cons:

The bed was so hard, my husband and I hardly slept all night - you may as well have been sleeping on the floor with a blanket. We considered contacting somebody in the night but assumed all beds would be the same. So uncomfortable. For that reason we wouldn't recommend or stay at Pen and Parchment again.

Was a brilliant weekend
Pros:

Breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful,
Location was fab, easy access to everything, shops, and pubs, lots of sightseeing,, nice to go on the sightseeing bus to see everything, interesting history of Stratford through the commentary on the bus

Good location for a visit
Pros:

The location was excellent, close to the centre of Stratford.
Everything was on hand, accomodation, food, drink.
Rooms were clean and comfortable, apart from the heat.

Cons:

I was not told when booking about the steep steps up to the rooms. All my party are 75+ and found it difficult.
The rooms were stifling hot. The windows would only open slightly and there was only one fan.
Not enough staff on in the restaurant in the evening. Had a long wait for everything.

Very good.
Pros:

Location was excellent right next to the river & town center. Rooms were clean and comfy. Staff were helpful & friendly. Ate in the Pen & Parchment we had fish & chips and they were very good. The stairs up to the rooms are a bit tricky for people with mobility problems but the annex is fine. Nice place to stay.
