Will not stay here again sadly
Pros:

The staff are lovely, the room and food were excellent

Cons:

I know it's not the hotel's fault but we had a sleepless night due to the town clock chiming loudly every 15 minutes right outside our window. I emailed the hotel to explain all this but got no reply.

Good location, friendly relaxed staff..Good breakfast.
Pros:

Breakfast was absolutely fine, but you would expect it to be.

Cons:

The Hotel is a beautiful building steeped in history..However, it is long overdue a face lift. Tins of paint do not cost a fortune whilst they work their way through and what a difference that would make to overall appearance.

Pros:

The breakfast was good, well cooked and hot. There was also some nice quaint features.

Cons:

The receptionist just handed our key over when checking in without saying where our room was or what time breakfast was served. We were not told where dining room was either. Also the clock outside on the tower was loud and disturbed our sleep.

Pros:

Clean, all staff very friendly, very good value, good food.
If you are looking for Farrow and Ball and the corporate vibe this is not for you. The decor is faded but the whole place has a characterful and relaxed feeling. Live music on Friday night was a bonus
