Train
This charming hotel is a real gem.

This place is gorgeous, both luxurious and tasteful. We loved the location where we could walk around downtown, which was lit up for the holidays. This is a fantastic quick retreat from the DC area.
The property is beautiful. Such a great use of an old brick factory. Beautifully restored. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The train that goes by every two hours all night was a real drawback.
I like it being conveniently close to things to do
The staff is extremely helpful and the property is really nice and has character and charm. They provide breakfast consisting of a muffin, juice, fruit and yoghurt. It would be nice if you could indicate what kind of muffin you would like because getting a chocolate muffin if you really don't like chocolate is a shame.
Behind the beds and behind nights stand it could be cleaner. Some items in our room where broken and need some fresh paint of wall paper.
Parking is paid while there is a huge parking lot in front of hotel. This should be included.
Spent two nights because we were in the area to purchase a car. Very pleasantly surprised - the online photos didn't do justice to how lovely the hotel is. Old shoe factory and they paid homage to shoes everywhere you looked (but very tastefully done). Very clean and the staff was friendly and competent. Within walking distance to the town and other restaurants. There was a nice paved walking/biking path along the James River below the hotel - they supplied bikes and it was a beautiful ride. Continental breakfast (muffin, yogurt, fruit, OJ) delivered to your door in an old shoeshine box. We highly recommend the Craddock-Terry Hotel.
Beautiful property and great service
The hotel has a unique flavor to it…
There are limitations on breakfast options and although the “muffin in a shoe box” is a cute idea it’s becomes a bit lame by day 3.
So my advice is mix it up a bit - offer more on the menu for breakfast. Add a decent espresso coffe machine etc
