The Fort Resort

The “kot” in Nagarkot refers to Fort. this would make the place even more meaningful.

Beautiful hotel with so many flowers around that you felt like you were in a magical garden. The staff always had a smile and took care of every need. My "villa" was in the forest where it was quiet and peaceful, except the day the hotel next to us had a wedding, lol. And the view from the rooftop of the hotel was spectacular despite the haze of the summer. If you're goal is a view of the snow capped mountains, go in September- November. But that did not disappoint me.

The garden and the terrace areas are beautiful with flowers and vegetation.
Fantastic mountain, sunrise views from the rooftop, just ignore the building site in the background.
Hotel is old, and the bathroom is in original state. However the beds are comfortable, and warm water in the shower arrives after a short while.
The garden villa area is quiet during the night, but might have some insects, mostly just harmless bees visiting the flowers.
All in all a pleasant stay, food is average-good.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, although its 100% male staff.

It was like a pocket Shangri La, though there were high rise tourist hotels close by and no female staff.

I had the most wonderful stay at the Fort Resort! The buildings and the grounds were so beautiful, my room was comfortable and lovely, and the staff was amazing! I highly recommend this resort, and I will definitely be back!

A rustic, relaxing place to relax and enjoy the mountain views. Very good service by Rojo and Vikram. People who have rated negatively probably don't understand/like the rustic nature of the place. There are no TVs and no telephones in the rooms. This is good!. Also, every corner of the property offers something to look at and enjoy. The rooms are spacious but needs some minor tweaks it to make it more comfortable.

Thanks to the senior manager, the hotel immediately replaced the malfunctioning water heater in my room when I reported it wasn't working properly.

This is an attractive hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The only drawback is that, while it is possible to view the sun rise on the Himalayas, it is not in the ideal location for this.

Amazing views and extraordinary service! Highly recommend to anyone who is planning to go to Nagarkot.

The location of The Fort is fantastic! A forest paradise. Birds singing and gorgeous views of the Himalayas. Nagarocot is a darling little village you can walk to to meet locals, have a meal and support the small shops.
The rooms are very sparse and not very clean. They desperately need to do some updating. Bathroom terribly inconvenient, no where to set a thing. The bed is very hard and uncomfortable. So, there are very good things here, but a few issues too.
