Pros:

Very central in Gion, nice local selection for breakfast. Very friendly staff. Room a bit on the smaller side given the price point.

The perfect venue from which to experience Kyoto.
Pros:

The Celestine Kyoto Gion is a gracious and relaxing retreat and the perfect venue from which to experience Kyoto. Its location in the Gion district near many key shrines is excellent. The staff could not be more accommodating and helpful. The breakfast buffet offers everything anyone might possibly want. We could not have been more satisfied.

This was a perfect choice!
Pros:

This was a ten! From the minute I arrived. A very welcoming staff at the door. A welcome drink and damp towel to refresh.
The room had all the amenities: mini fridge, coffee, tea, water, terrific bath, very comfortable bed.
The lounge offered free drinks and snacks at 16:00.
The breakfasts were spectacular.
Both Japanese and western options. ( the tempura dinners were less spectacular but good.)
I stayed 5 nights. The location was perfect! An easy walk to anywhere in Gion or across the river. I would highly recommend!

Cons:

The restaurant for dinner was a little dreary. Perhaps it could be made to look better at night.

If I ever come back to Kyoto , I will return to Celestine .
Pros:

Location was excellent , room was comfy and thoughtful but the staff was the greatest in our 17 days of travel and the breakfast was also superior .

Cons:

I wish the lobby was quieter and there was an outdoor space to use .

Great location and friendly service, but limited comfort
Pros:

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent. It’s within walking distance of nearly everything.

Cons:

The hotel feels in line with a typical 4-star property. The rooms are quite simple, with somewhat limited storage space. Breakfast is fine, offering a decent selection, though the buffet setup has more of a casual, canteen-like feel.

We did experience a small inconvenience during our stay. Because of jet lag, we let our children sleep in, and their room wasn’t cleaned as it was considered late in the day. This happened twice, which was a bit challenging given the limited space in the room.

Overall, while the stay was comfortable, the hotel may not fully reflect the value for the price.

Un lugar con una atmósfera increíble
Pros:

Muy bien ubicado, cerca de lo icónicamente más antiguo de Kioto. Muy amable todo su personal, muy buen desayuno. Excelente el baño Onsen.
