A gem in the heart of Kyoto
Pros:

Helpful and friendly staff with great attention to detail.
The thing we liked most was the bath (onsen), which was open from 15:00 to 10:00 the next morning. It was very well supplied with all the necessary amenities and never crowded.

Breakfast was great as well.

Feeling well rested and bathed even despite travelling with a toddler!
Pros:

We loved the communal baths. We had them to ourselves every morning at 6am and it was a treat. The location is incredible, right on the doorstep of major sites, great eateries and good shopping within walking distance. The beds were super comfortable. I appreciated the Byredo products and the fancy lotions in the baths. The kimonos are beautiful cotton, I could’ve lived in. We were travelling with a toddler and found everyone to be super accommodating.

A nice clean place to spend a few days in Kyoto.
Pros:

Simple and unfussy. Good location. Quiet yet central.

Cons:

Basic. Restaurant was crowded and very noisy at breakfast. Spa was minimal.

Such a special place in Kyoto
Pros:

This is a special place, great location, amazing staff, delightful scent (we bought the oil on check out), the free drinks and snacks between 4-6pm, the breakfast - all is great
