Elderly guest left waiting due to mosquito infestation

I booked this hotel for my mother-in-law, an elderly woman arriving after a tiring nearly 8-hour journey. The hotel knew her arrival time in advance and had already received full payment, yet her room wasn't ready — it needed fumigation because of a mosquito infestation. So instead of resting after a long trip, she had to wait around after finally getting to the hotel.
This is unacceptable for any guest, let alone an elderly traveler who'd just endured hours of travel. Pest control should be handled before check-in, not discovered after a guest arrives. There was no real urgency or apology for the inconvenience.
Despite the convenient location near Lagos airport, I wouldn't recommend this hotel — especially not for elderly relatives or anyone needing a smooth, reliable check-in. Look elsewhere; the airport proximity isn't worth the stress.

Overall, the cleanliness and condition of the room needs significantly improvement. The staffs were very welcoming.
Pros:

The property is very close to Arena market , and it’s easy to get a ride to any where from the hotel

Cons:

The AC was not working properly and kept leaking water onto the floor around the unit. We complained about it, and they came to repair it, but unfortunately, the same problem continued.

The bed sheets and pillowcases were also very dirty when we arrived. We informed them, and they were changed, but the bed was still very itchy

Beware of this hotel, not recommended
Pros:

They canceled my reservation in the most unprofessional way. Despite having a confirmed reservation on booking.com, I was contacted by the hotel through WhatsApp to make payment before my arrival. It was against Booking.com policies to make such contact and request payment but after I was threatened that my reservation would be cancelled if I don’t pay before 6pm Nigerian time, I was willing to pay to secure my reservation, however, I was on the plane and the wifi would not work with my bank app which I explained to to
The hotel cancelled my reservation just 2 hours before my landing

Highly unprofessional, they operate contrary to booking.com policies
Do not book this hotel and I expect booking.com to delist this hotel in order to protect innocent customers

The environment was alright

Cons:

I was very disappointed with my experience. The room was not ready when I arrived at 7pm, despite the stated 12pm check-in time and me informing them of my arrival in advance. The kitchen service was also extremely slow. Although breakfast for two was promised, I was later asked to pay for the second breakfast. To make matters worse, staff came to my room and repeatedly banged on the door to request payment, which I found very unprofessional and unacceptable.
