three star for the hotel stay. one separate one to Esmeral, who was super helpful and made us more welcoming. it was a shame that there werent more staff with her attitude and dedication to good service around.
The resort itself is great.. plenty of greenery, rooms are spacious, comfy with nice private pools.Moving around the resort may require the use of the buggy service which can be up to a 15 mins wait during busy periods. walking around is less pleasant (and not very safe !) with the buggies moving at high speeds, constant stream of motorbikes, maintenance vehicles around and loose tiles all over the pavement. wished it had been more pedestrian friendly . location is north of the island, 10 mins drive from Grandworld but heading into Sunset town will take up an hour.
Overall food was average. buffet Breakfast has good choices but can be a little chaotic.. glasses, various things running out, coffee machine not being refilled etc…nice touches with the pho , banh mi stations . One place to avoid is bar 1892 - soggy/ cold fries along with some poor service..(“we have no mangoes to make drinks”, 20 mins later , a mango bingsu the size of Mt. Fiji served next table ! ) ….not exactly what you expect from a 5 star resort . The food / service experiences were generally better over at Ibiza. But still better off heading outside .
Facilities wise - pools and beach are great … indoor areas not so. Gym too small and crowded, games room lacking options and one table for pool , table tennis sharing between few hundred guests mean it could be a long wait for your turn.
Staff service also mixed ..was threatened a fine for losing a towel card , check in process way too complicated , “iced” versions of drinks came when asked for hot , items of rubbish being left outside our room and no reason , towel guy with the checklist at the pool was simply rude . We were fortunate to meet Esmeral at reception who helped us to navigate some of the issues and was really a great help!
Overall , a pleasant stay. whist not a truly 5 star experience. First time visitors would still enjoy the experience … although having done it once .. with some of the service frustrations and average food, not sure we would be back soon…
Such a beautiful hotel, grounds, pool, beach, Level villas are really nice and very spacious with lovely pool areas outside. The villa pool and beach are really nice, lots of comfy beds and kept very clean.
Unfortunately we found the service to be probably the worst we’ve had. Arriving for breakfast to an array of dirty pots on tables and being seated at dirty tables with no cutlery, then you will be left like this until you manage to grab someone’s attention to ask for a menu, when you’ve decided what you want be prepared to try and then get someone’s attention again to order before waiting half an hour for your cold eggs to arrive.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the highly rated Italian as it was fully booked for our five day stay. We tried the buffet twice, the first time my husband was asked to pay while eating his chicken wings which was quite bizarre. The second time, he wasn’t hungry but accompanied our daughter to lunch, when he told the waitress it was just our daughter eating, the waitress told him “ the cameras are watching you”
We went out to eat at Grand world after this which has lots of choice and only 5 mins in a taxi.
I was planning my Christmas and New Year holiday and usually choose other hotel chains with a consistent 5-star service level. This time, my friends already had a reservation at Meliá Vinpearl Phu Quoc for the holiday period and suggested that I join them.
All dates were fully booked, so I contacted the reservations department directly. From that moment, my experience with this hotel chain began — unfortunately, not in a positive way. My inquiry about possible available villas or cancellations was answered only a week later, which felt unacceptably slow for a hotel of this category.
By checking availability daily, I eventually managed to book a villa for a shorter stay than originally planned, as not all dates were available. In hindsight, this may have been for the best, as the stay itself turned out to be disappointing for several reasons.
Upon arrival, I asked about upgrading to the highest service level (“The Level”), but was told that it was not possible. This was surprising, as I have reliable information that other guests were upgraded to this level and that such an option does exist.
I understand that villas naturally show signs of wear over time, so I will not be overly critical about that. However, the quality of housekeeping was poor. Some light fixtures were missing bulbs or even had exposed wiring. One of the two sun loungers at our villa had a broken leg, making it unusable. Despite staying in a three-bedroom villa with a private pool, we were provided with only two pool/beach towels, which is clearly insufficient.
Dining was another major issue. It was almost impossible to secure dinner reservations at the restaurants. At breakfast, long queues were unavoidable — especially for egg dishes. The chefs preparing eggs did not understand basic English words, making it difficult to receive the correct order even after several attempts. Out of three coffee machines, usually only one was working, resulting in 5–10 minute waits for a cup of mediocre coffee. Freshly squeezed juice was not available at all. This was the first time I experienced such a low-quality breakfast in a hotel claiming 5-star status.
At the beach and main pool, there are very few sun loungers, many without mattresses, making them uncomfortable or unusable.
There were also many small but important details that simply do not correspond to the declared level of the hotel.
After noticing that some guests managed to upgrade from standard all-inclusive to “The Level,” I returned to reception to ask whether, at least for the last two days of our stay — even for an additional cost higher than what we had already paid — we could receive the level of service initially expected from a 5-star hotel. I was asked to leave my room number so they could get back to me. More than 24 hours passed without any response, and my follow-up inquiries were ignored. I then approached a “The Level” representative directly and received a straightforward refusal due to alleged lack of availability.
In the end, for a significant amount of money, my family received a very low-quality holiday experience. It is highly unlikely that we will return to this hotel or use other hotels from the Meliá chain in the future.
Thank you to Anton and the team at The Level in the Melia resort. We loved our stay. The safari and VIN Wonder shuttle was so convenient and the buggy service made such a difference around the resort. You went above and beyond to make it special for us all - thank you!
We visited Meliá Vinpearl in December 2025 for a family holiday, and I would like to share our experience to help set realistic expectations for future travellers.
Location:
The location is absolutely stunning, with a pristine beach and breath-taking surroundings. The property is immaculately maintained, and a special mention must go to the gardening team for their exceptional work in keeping the landscape aligned with Meliá’s high standards.
The Villa:
We booked a 3-Bedroom Lake Villa, and it was gorgeous, to say the least. The villa was extremely spacious and perfectly suited for our family. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the private pool overlooking the lake. Housekeeping was professional, discreet, and maintained the villa impeccably throughout our stay.
Transportation within the Resort:
Given the vast size of the resort, internal transportation is managed via tuk-tuk services. Managing logistics across such a large property is no small task, but the team handled it efficiently and seamlessly.
Breakfast Experience:
The breakfast buffet was extensive, offering a wide variety of options, with guests having the flexibility to choose between two different restaurants—an excellent way to manage crowd flow while maintaining quality.
LEVEL Package & IBIZA:
For guests seeking an elevated experience, beach-facing villas are highly recommended. The IBIZA experience offers full-day access to beachfront dining and entertainment, adding a vibrant and premium dimension to the stay.
Customer Service:
While we had a slightly uncomfortable experience at the beginning, the hotel’s customer service went above and beyond to address and rectify the situation. A special mention to Ms. Esmeral from the Guest Relations team, who patiently listened to our concerns and ensured everything was taken care of with professionalism and warmth.
In Conclusion:
The resort delivers an exceptional experience for guests seeking a serene, well-curated luxury holiday. Although our four-day stay felt too short, we certainly look forward to returning—this time with a larger group.
We spent a week with family at this resort as Level guests. It was simply amazing. The accommodations were spacious and inviting. The beach view was picture book, and the private pool and deck was used every day. Imagine having a floating breakfast served in the pool! Or a barbecue feast catered to you on the deck!
The Level meals and happy hour were delicious. Favorites were seafood dishes. The fruits were sweet and just ripe. The pool was just made for those who love to swim laps.
Entertainment? Sure! I enjoyed an educational session on Vietnamese coffee. A beachside session on relaxational breathing techniques was great.
There were beautiful tree lined paths to walk, or if you needed a ride, just call up a buggy, or tuk tuk!
The spa was sensational. Massage therapy of many types, time in a jacuzzi or sauna were available.
Anything you needed was a phone call away.
Chill here! You won’t be sorry.
My children and my husband really enjoy at this place. The resort is large and fresh. Thank you Mickey for being friendly, I will come back again😉
Very wonderful holiday, everything was perfect. Accommodation, food, location, professional and very nice and helpful staff, nothing to complain about, everything was top notch. It is worth coming back and enjoying this great holiday.
We had The Level.
The food was good and there are some interesting activities to join. Near some location such as amusement park and the zoo. The staff mickey is nice and hard-working
We've stayed here for almost 3 nights and everything is good in general. From the restaurant to the room and other services. The staff is really friendly and nice, especially Mickey
We like the restaurant at ibiza because this one is very cozy and the food is tasty. We can see the view of the beach when sunset and it really vibing. Thank you Mickey the staff for being nice and caring us.
The resort is huge with the beautiful beach. There is a recreational area to play. The staff named Mickey is really helpful and nice
For our ninth stay in Vietnam, we chose Melia Vinpearl Phu Quoc, and it was the best choice yet! Peace and quiet, excellent food, and a very high level of comfort in terms of the villas and amenities. However, the biggest asset is the staff at The Level. They are polite, helpful, and provide excellent communication both in person and via the app and WhatsApp. What really impressed me is that they are genuinely natural in their approach, not just nice, like many other resorts. We felt cared for and not anonymous. They prepared an unforgettable dinner for us and even arranged for lotus flowers. They are a wonderful team.
Very beautiful and well-maintained hotel in a great location, within easy reach of very interesting and attractive places on the island, such as the longest cable car in the world, a pearl farm, a beach with starfish, and many others. Helpful and kind hotel staff, very helpful tut tuk drivers, always smiling. Masterful cuisine including À la Carte restaurants. At the "Level" reception, the young ladies Selena, Jodie, Esme, Maia, Min and others are very helpful, they will help with every little thing. So far it was our most beautiful vacation.
This stay at Melia was absolutely amazing experience. We choose Level experience and every staff was absolutly lovely! From beggining to the end. Even housekeeper did everything they can.
Thank you very much again❤️
- quiet, beautiful place suitable for relaxation
- excellent care
- large selection of delicious food and drinks
- villa by the sea - beautiful and clean rooms
It's a place I'd love to return to.
My family stayed here for 3 nights and the resort was nice to our. The beach is huge and clean, also the food is tasty. Mickey and Leo are friendly and nice
Melia Phu Quoc is a great choice to have a vacation with your family, good weather and enjoying the vibe at Ibiza is something that is worth trying. Spacious villa and service mind of the staff is absolutely heart-warming, Esmeral took a great part of it. Thank you and see you!!
It was our first time visiting Melia Phu Quoc, and our family was warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. Since it was peak season, the check-in process took a little longer, but it was understandable. The food was varied and nicely spread across the two restaurants, making it well worth trying. The resort is a bit far from the town center, but the overall experience definitely makes up for the distance
What impressed me most was the staff — everyone was helpful, and always smiling. A lot of thanks for staff Esmeral - very nice, friendly and take care me a lot.
I frequently used the free Gym and enjoyed the sauna at Spa, that's really relacibg. Some unique activities like Handmade crafts and Live DJ sets in the evening, which are a nice touch. Thank Mickey for caring and being nice
