You get what you pay for
Pros:

You will get what you pay for here.
You are looking for a cheap location with a bed and bathroom in your room.

Paperthin walls which will make you hear your neighbors thoughts. I would recommend you to bring hearing protection buds to put inside deep inside your ear for a good sleep.
The AC in my room worked very well.

It is so central in Old Phuket that you will be happy however this place is. I would however be ashamed to bring home a girl. I had some really bad water damaged bathroom during my stay. The water didn't flow the right way, so if I took a shower the whole bathroom floor would be wet and there will be old water under the floor tiles when you step inside the bathroom the day after.

Please get me right, I am happy about my stay at this place.

Pros:

Aside from a little glitch at check-in (nobody at the desk to give us a key or let us in) everything was great! The location is perfect for just looking around old town and the lady at the desk was super helpful arranging a late night taxi for us.

Very bad experience
Pros:

We stayed 2 days in this hostel.
We took the best room (the family one)
No one at the reception when we wanted to check in! We had to wait 20 minutes to see someone who don t speak english.. she called the owner who just speak buy phone.. she was rude and din t listen to any question.. just pay and go!
In fact we understood that she has villas to rent and she realy don't care about her guest house.
Don t expect any service / advice or anything from them! (Can we change the towel - NO / Can we give a call 1 minute to confirm a boat booking - NO / can we print one paper - NO / where can i find a restaurant at this time (9pm) - I don't Know.. 🤯
So much nicer place in the same street. I don t know how they can be hilighted on some booking agency. This place is terrible!
Very noisy room(windows doesn t close completly) and the worst service i have seen!

We slept in a sauna!
Pros:

It has been a while since we came to Phuket, and I understand prices have gone up, however, paying 600 baht for a fan room is way too much. The rooms with air we heard go for $1,400. That seems like greed is taking charge at this point. A couple of positive things I can point out is that the front door was secure at night, and that breakfast is included. One big annoyance was that the lady got pushy cleaning our room and even forgot our garbage twice. We locked our door while we went to eat breakfast, and the lady just unlocked our door without our permission, and cleaned the room. We feel this is an invasion of our privacy.
I realize Old Town is more touristy than other areas of the city, but we used to pay only 300 baht for fan rooms, which is standard. We checked out other guesthouses for next time, and they come with air conditioning, breakfast, and for a much cheaper price.
Thank you for reading. 🤗

amazing place to stay
Pros:

I booked this hostel last minute when my travel plans changed. although the hostel owner planned to be on holiday during the time of my stay, she gave me a room regardless, and trusted me to be in the hostel by myself. she is an kind, honest, and generous woman, who speaks english and mandarin well. the hostel itself is extremely clean and well kept, a comfortable place to stay. i booked one of the 2-person rooms with AC and it has a private bathroom and sink which is very nice! the location is also incredibly convenient, it's in phuket old town which has a bunch of nice restaurants and bars. i would highly recommend staying here!

Service by reception is very poor.
Pros:

The location is great and the rooms are nice and clean. AC is perfect and the bathroom is what you expect for the price.

However the service is horrible!!!
We wanted to book a ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi leaving at 11 am that morning. First the girl at the reception wanted to book us the ferry at 1:30 pm. After we decided to book the tickets at the pier and we were just stepping into a cab she told us that she can book us the ferry for 11 am with free transport.
We believed her and waited for her cab. When we arrived at the pier we were declined by the ferry company operating at 11 am. They said or hotel didn't make a reservation and told us that our receipt was only valid for the Farry operated by another company leaving at 1:30 pm. We tried to contact our hostel but they didn't answer the phine.
In total we just lost 2 hours but it was still quite a hustle and it was the first time(!) in South East Asia that we were scammed by the hostel reception. Usually you can absolutely rely on you hotel in regards of booking.

Is a good place to stay but don't rely on them!

Functional
Pros:

I think we could have done better for the price we payed but our room was tidy and clean. You can literally walk everywhere within the old town and there's an amazing breakfast cafe right next door.
I'd call the rooms rather functional than pretty but it works if you're not exactly planning on staying an entire week.

Good hotel, for a good prize
Pros:

I stayed in one of the airco rooms. You have a lot of room. Free wifi in the room and breakfast is included. The hotel is in one of the old buildings. Wat gives it's charm. And it is very close to the market. Staff is very friendly. So good prize for a good hostel.

Fair hostel and fair price
Pros:

I only spent one night in this hostel, regretting not to have chosen to stay here before.
I had a double room with bathroom, which was quiet and clean with some little decorations. The bathroom would need some refurbishing, but the shiny wooden floor everywhere else gave this place that certain colonial character typical of Phuket town.
Breakfast with coffee, toast and jam is included in the rate and the owner is very nice and helpful. There was free wi-fi everywhere which worked quite well.

Excellent services :)
Pros:

I had the chance to try the new dormitory room, comfortable (+ a towel - not everywhere) plus excellent price! Included the nice breakfast (again not everywhere) and free Internet!!! It is a family business, and I was surprised because the owner took lot of his time to explain me how to manage in Phuket city and where to go for the nice beach! When I was over there, there is always the man or woman owner's. Excellent advice and really good feeling into this hostel. We had celebrate the birthday of their handmaid, nice cake. Therefore I stayed 4 days, thanks to them for their wonderful attention to me :)

Dishonest, impolite, hidden costs
Pros:

The staff doesn't speak English at all (they are Burmese), just a bit of Thai. The owner is rarely on the spot.
I asked (in Thai) the price for washing and ironing. Both the receptionist and the owner told me 80 bath/kilo. I double asked if that price (very high!) included ironing, in order to be sure. They said "yes, sure".
When I picked up my clothes they were wet (after 48 hrs!) and not ironed yet. "If you want iron you have to pay more" the owner said by phone. I complained and she hang up impolitely.
I left the place. Be aware. Dishonest and careless.

Great staff; Restrooms need upgrade
Pros:

I reserved a room with a/c and arrived in the evening around 8:30. The room was very clean and large but HOT. it took forever for the a/c to cool it down but my greatest disappointment was the restroom. The walls to the restroom did not meet the ceiling, thus any "noises" emitted while having " personal" time in the restroom were heard easily by any other in the room. Additionally, the control on the hot shower pack spun around without reason, thus the shower was between cold and cool....not a favorite of mine after a full day of travel. The free coffee in the morning was a blessing but the restroom issues resulted in me finding other accommodations in the town of Phuket.

Undid everything positive by trying to cheat their guests at every opportunity
Pros:

I could have written such nice things about this place. No complaints at all about the rooms which were comfortable, air conditioned and quite good value. The family running it were (or seemed) so friendly and nice and it'd be a solid 5-star review if it wasn't for the poor wi-fi.

But what they don't seem to realise is by trying on more than one occasion to completely rip off their guests, all the positive aspects are quickly forgotten and you leave feeling irritated and almost betrayed.

First the washing which was 80B/kg which I refused to pay, walked 100m down the road and got for 40B. Fair enough, maybe they don't like doing laundry, god knows I don't.

Then we wanted to get to Georgetown Malaysia and were quoted 4000B, more than a flight for a mini-van. In the end we managed the trip for less than 1000B including transfers, a 75% saving.

The final straw though was the nonsense about the taxi to the bus station. The bus station is 5km away, just a little too far to walk. We were quoted 200B for two of us in a taxi which seemed a little expensive but we were happy to pay. Then suddenly we're being told it's 800B. I've lived in London and Brisbane, two of the most expensive cities in the world for taxis and £16 (A$30) for a 5km minicab ride is taking the piss. Any nonsense excuses about them getting no commission or thinking we wanted to go the airport should be ignored because the price came down to 300B straight away when we complained. In the end we left a little later getting the bus for 20B giving us a saving of 760B or 95%.

Like I said, really friendly, nice rooms but they undid everything by trying cheat their farang guests. You can fleece a sheep many times, but you can only skin it once. Such a shame

Hostel? More like 4* hotel!
Pros:

We wandered into this hostel after walking around Phuket on a very very hot day with our back packs on. Price for a triple room was 250 baht per person (£5 each) and the room was fantastic! Air conditioned, private bathroom, western toilet, complimentary shower gel and soap, plus bottled water in room. Very clean, and the staff were amazing! So helpful, and the made sure we got all the tourist parts of old town Phuket visited in one day! So close to the fresh market too which was lovely, and right next door is a fruit and veg stall that sells THE best coconuts iv eaten in a whole month in Thailand! Will recommend to everyone I know!
