Pros:

The property is line of the decent hotel in kluang.

Cons:

4th floor carpet is in bad condition, rainwater is leaking in the ceiling. Carpet is bad smell and condition. The washroom no proper locks.

Very disappointing stay
Cons:

We booked a room with breakfast included, but were denied breakfast even after showing multiple proofs from Booking.com. The front desk staff, Syira, refused to acknowledge it despite the Booking.com representative confirming our booking details with her directly. We were also told that the staff in charge would only arrive at 1 p.m. which makes no sense, as we shouldn’t have to wait until then for a breakfast that was already included.

On top of that, Syira was extremely rude and unhelpful throughout the interaction, showing no effort to resolve the issue and only insisting on denying responsibility. Very disappointing experience with the management and front desk service.

A very disappointing stay, but am hoping they can reinvent this iconic hotel

Unfortunately, apart fr the views out to the mountains, there was nothing

Overall, while the hotel could still be acceptable, it really needs higher standards of maintenance
Pros:

The lift may look very old-fashioned, but it still works perfectly well. I also really enjoyed the pictures displayed on the walls — they are beautiful and add a nice touch to the atmosphere.

The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, which made my stay more pleasant despite some of the hotel’s shortcomings.

Cons:

Merdeka Hotel, Kluang, is clearly an older hotel, and it really shows in the condition of its facilities. The carpet outside the room was dusty and smelly, and it should be replaced with a new one. The towels provided didn’t feel fresh either, which gave the impression that they’ve been reused for too long.
At first, I was given a room without windows — it felt very closed-in, and I could hardly breathe. Thankfully, the staff helped me move to another room with a window, which was much better as I could at least get some natural light and air. However, even in the new room, the curtains were extremely outdated and added to the “tired” feel of the place.
There’s also no breakfast provided, which is disappointing compared to many other hotels in this price range.
