The location, the staff and the room were great BUT….
….The tablet necessary to control the electricity could not connect (I rebooted it three times and got the “No Connection” message) and individual lights in the room do not have individual switches. The only way to turn off one light was to turn off them all with the “Master Switch” which, of course, resulted in a completely dark room. I was told that the maintenance staff had gone home, that this issue occurred occasionally and that no one could correct this dark and potentially dangerous problem. However, “we’ll be happy to bring you a lantern.” Seriously?!? A hotel of this “standing” and price gives me a battery-operated lantern to use to get to the “Master Switch” and turn the lights on?
The last time that happened to me was in Kinshasa, Zaire, in 1974 (remember “Rumble In the Jungle”) and all the lights went out at the Intercontinental Hotel (now the Pullman Kinshasa Grand Hotel). Not only did they give me a torch but they also profusely apologized and comped me one night.
At the Via when I checked out at 7 a.m. in the almost dark morning to get to an appointment? No profuse apologies, no comp, no nothing. They didn’t even offer to change my room.
Close to the park
I’ve stayed here 4 times no and this time the room was the very first room attached to the check in and next to elevators.

The location is the best for Oracle park
Over priced for what you get. Small room, gross stained carpet all for the low price of $500 a night +$95 daily for parking. Only in the city can you get away with this.

I would not recommend staying here. Go to the Hyatt or Luma. No onsite services available, the rooftop bar is okay, but very small and not worth it. They say they offer coffee in room, but no water, unless you bring your own, and ins coffee cup and one espresso cup, to make coffee in. Completely not worth the cost!
Location walking distant to restaurants and entertainment. Valet parking available, a must in San Francisco. The AC in the room was silent…..💤
