view!
This is a lovely hotel with outstanding views of Brixham.Breakfast was lovely and had a good choice.
Friendly staff, comfortable room, great food.
Room was a bit hot.
The location is very special
The 'attic' rooms are very hot and quite small
An absolute gem. Comfortable cosy clean rooms. Stunning location. All staff were so friendly and helpful (special shout out to David at Breakfast) amazing food. Will definitely return.
Absolutely nothing !
This was my second stay at the hotel and looking forward to my next.
I wish I stayed an extra day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The outside terrace area overlooking the sea was very good and seating was very comfortable. Gardens around the hotel were well laid out.
The problem I had was Booking.com. I booked a sea view room and we ended up in a garden facing room with a patch of sea if you angled your neck. It was a small box room on the top floor on the side of the hotel - not on the sea facing side. It was not what we expected from the booking.com website and maybe explains why we were offered an upgrade. Why would we take an upgrade when we thought we had booked a sea view room?
The hotel is in a fantastic location for views , the staff were very polite .
The room and bathroom were very old and dated and in our opinion needs a bit of a renovation for the money you pay we were very disappointed .
Overall, the hotel is fantastic. Lovely location and great views over Torbay, especially on the terrace area. The staff were great and always there to help. The Brasserie is a nice place to eat, drink and relax. There was a great selection available for breakfast.
Whilst the was nothing actually wrong with the room we were in (nice size for the two nights, comfy bed, clean and tidy), we felt that it was a bit dated and perhaps in need of a refresh.
The location was wonderful, great views of Torbay from the terrace with front row seats for the Air show that weekend.
Not to far to walk into Brixham down the hill but a bit of a trek back up, we stopped for a picnic half-way.
The room was tiny and in the eaves on the 2nd floor so limited headroom on one side of the bed.
Even though it wasn't a hot day and the room faced West, it was really hot and stuffy when we arrived. There was a desk fan which helped a bit
The "sea view" was a view through a small window that only one of us could look sideways out of at a time otherwise the view was of the lawn.
It was very much in need of a refurbishment as carpets were fraying and the blackout lining on the curtains was torn.
The "hot" buffet breakfast was lukewarm at best and as we're diabetic we couldn't full up on pastries etc.
We only booked it because we were attending a wedding there and it made it easier as we don't drive.
The hotel is in a fantastic location with amazing sea views looking towards Paignton and Torquay.
We enjoyed a fabulous lunch on the terrace with amazing views and a great atmosphere.
There was a great choice of food at breakfast, the dining room again shared the fabulous views.
The room exceed expectations, comfortable bed and cotton bed linen. Coastal views were beautiful.
Overall we absolutely loved this hotel and its location.
We would recommend it to others and will definitely stay again.
Everything was perfect.
Its location on the headland with fantastic views and great outside facilities,
Food was very good and the staff in particular gave excellent service.
The dormer bedroom on the second floor was unbearably hot, with only a fan to try and cool it.
It was a heatwave admittedly but normal summer temperatures would still make this very uncomfortable.
We paid for a sea view which was a complete waste of money as you could not possibly stay in the room a minute longer than necessary.
I understand listed building status makes changes difficult but portable mobile air con units could and should be provided.
Didn’t like the dog friendly status either which is not made clear in the booking.
Great location, great food beautiful views, watched the sun go down with some lovely gentle piano music
Room was a little tired
