Breakfast was shambolic, staff untrained, first day no tables free and no coffee, second day no coffee and all tables left dirty for over 40 mins. I had to sit outside until I moved dirty plates myself off a table. Third, fourth day I ate outside. Bread hard, same utensil to use for meats and cheeses. Needs a big change. Traffic is nonstop outside.
We had a very comfortable stay at the Museum Hotel. Our flight to Tbilisi landed post midnight and we took a rental car from the airport. The hotel is a reasonably straight forward drive from the airport and on a wide road. That was one reason why we'd selected it : didn't want to drive in the innards of an unknown city post midnight.
The surprising bit was how close to everything the hotel was. Right outside the hotel is plenty of place to park the car (free), and the backlanes are one of the cleanest and most tourist friendly parts of the city that we saw. The Carrefour store and the Bazari mall and food court were super convenient. Everything is walkable in minutes.
Hotel in particular is modern, clean and offers excellent breakfast. The staff is super helpful. On the last day we were driving back to Tbilisi from Telavi and were to go to the airport directly, but because of the Middle East conflict (Iran-Israel) leading to airspace closures, our flight got delayed. We needed to stay the night at a hotel, and went to Hotel Museum but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. However the very sweet lady manning the desk (originally from Telavi : I wish I had asked her name to put here) offered to keep our luggage with them and even park the rental car for free at the hotel. These sweet gestures are very touching.
I would happily stay here again, for the property, the breakfast, the location, but most of all the genuinely helpful people.
A professionally run hotel.
Though it faces a noisy street ( the back side is much more quiet ) it is only a short walk to a lovely pedestrian friendly neighborhood.
The staff was exceedingly attentive and helpful.
Would stay here again.
People are all kind and very eager to provide customer assistance. Excellent breakfast. An on-site bar/cafeteria open until late and an in-house restaurant. Comfortable rooms equipped with everything you need. Located in an excellent position.
I like everything
Best location
We visited this hotel in November 2023, and would highly recommend this hotel
It is a very nice, cozy hotel. Great Interiors.
We got upgraded as well .
Nice breakfast options. Hotel staff was very nice and friendly and helpful, helped us book taxi to the airport and translated and helped with driver.
Must stay.
Great hotel, very nice location, 10 minutes walk to Rustavelli Avenue. Beautiful view from balcony. Staff was really polite and helpful. Rooms were always clean by the time we came back from breakfast.
Disadvantages are only that lift didn’t work many times.
I stayed 2 nights at this hotel as part of an Intrepid trip to Caucasus, therefore I did not choose this property myself. I had a really great room with a balcony - actually massive, with a huge bathroom and slept really well. Whilst there I also put quite a lot of laundry in on the 4-hour turnaround service, which although wasn't the cheapest, was worth it as we were tight on time - everything was returned perfectly to me.
My only complaint about the room is that the location is on a busy main road on the edge of the centre, and therefore the balcony faced onto it, and was v noisy, so much so that I didn't hear my friend knocking on my door due to the traffic noise!
Breakfast was a good spread and I enjoyed the bar area for quiet drinks in the evening - overall - recommended!
Well situated hotel a short walk from the major attractions and the old town. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast buffet. They seem to cope well with large tour groups. Also nice area behind the hotel for an evening beer and meal.
The most comfortable beds ever! We stayed here at the beginning and the end of our trip to Georgia, and we were really looking forward to our return visit. Quirky modern decor, great amenities and a superb location on the river. We could walk everywhere and find our bearings, whether we were at the baths district, or Rustaveli avenue, or at the other side of the river. Last, but not least, excellent management who sorted out a problem we had with our reservation with grace and efficiency.
Only small problem: the coffee needs to improve.
This hotel was very comfy and modern with amazing breakfast. The staff was caring and wonderful- even arranged my toiletries in the bathroom. Ask for a room away from the Main Street and the in-house entertainment noise though it did stop at 10 PM one night and the other night did not start at all.
The Museum Hotel is a well positioned hotel, within walking distance to many sightseeing spots. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are fine although as in any hotel, some rooms are better (bigger) than others. I was there twice within the space of ten days and my room 412 was larger than the room I had previously (the number of which I forgot), and therefore, it felt more comfortable. Breakfast was standard, certainly not outstanding. The breakfast area is a bistro in the evening and the evening meals are ample and the deserts excellent and all reasonably priced.
I found the hotel itself to be pricey as compared with other hotels frequented during a 5 week tour of a number of countries.
It was a good stay with hotel on the main road near to Bridge of Peace. Breakfast was good. Service was also good. The rooms with street view and higher floors are better. It is walking distance from Bridge of peace, cable car and hot air ballon ride.
Stayed for two nights. Fast check-in, friendly front desk staff. Room was quite small for a suite, although it is an old building. Breakfast was excellent, club sandwich I had at lunch was mediocre.
It was located in a reachable place. I stayed here right after I cured from COVID-19, so I wanted to take a good rest before I leave Georgia. The staffs were very kind, the breakfast was nice. I could print all necessary documents at the lobby thanks to their help. The room was much better than I expected.
Very comfortable and big rooms, great bathrooms, have all amenities, you may need. Very clean rooms and and areas.
Perfect and convenient location.
Great staff, all very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast.
I can highly recommend the hotel and next time I will be back in Tbilisi, I will for sure be back in Museum Hotel.
Great,clean. Near rash street
We stayed here for four nights in mid-October while visiting Tbilisi for mid-term break. Our decision to stay here was based in part on other TA reviews and the location. We were not disappointed in the least.
We decided to get the Museum Suite, which was a bit more expensive than some of the other rooms, but it was an excellent decision. The room was quite large, as was the bathroom, plus it had a small kitchenette area. We did find it a bit odd that the kitchenette did not have any dishes or utensils, but perhaps those are available upon request. The terrace was also quite spacious, albeit a bit noisy as our room faced the busy street in front of the hotel. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well as the blackout curtains made the room very dark.
The breakfast was quite nice, with a large selection of foods to choose from. While some items were the same each day, there was enough variety that it was possible to eat different foods each morning. The live piano player was a nice touch that we enjoyed.
The location is perfect, with the hotel being situated between the Old Town and Freedom Square areas. It is also right across the street from the Dry Bridge Market. The staff was always friendly and welcoming. We would not hesitate to stay here again should we return to Tbilisi.
Stayed twice at the Museum Hotel and loved the convenience of this hotel occupying a historic building conveniently located near Old Town. We found the staff pleasant and attentive to problems - including electrical problems during both visits that required staff to correct. What they did not correct was operation of light switches. Two bedside switches, found in both sides o pf beds, did nothing to control 4 lights in room but did turn off bathroom light from bedside?
While both rooms were clean and bedding comfortable, on the downside the rooms on both occasions were extremely small and the bathroom tiny. However the most frustrating issue pertained to extremely poor lighting. The four globe lamps on the room each had 5 watt LED bulbs which is the equivalent of a 40 watt conventional incandescent bulbs. They were in the four corners of the room, spaced about 3.5 meters apart and covered with coated glass domes further reducing the light output.
So if you wish to read or see what is in your suitcase it is recommended you carry your own flashlight or illuminate your book with the light on your cellphone as we did. For the hotel class and price charged this was ridiculous and as a result we shall seek another property on our next Tbilisi visit.
