Pros:

The only part of the stay that was disappointing was the beach. It’s supposed to be an ocean that you can jump into and go swimming. Crash against some waves. That’s a big negative. The ocean was a mile away. And when the tide came in it was above ankle deep for as long as you can walk out. Not what we were expecting! Other than that it was a great place to stay if you prefer a pool!

Beach Safety Warning
We stayed at Laguna Shores Resort and had a scary experience walking out to the beach during low tide. What looked like firm sand quickly turned into soft mud—we began sinking waist-deep before realizing what was happening. Thankfully, we kept calm and got out, but it could have ended badly.

There were no warning signs about this natural hazard, and we saw other guests walking even farther out across similar terrain. If you're not from a coastal area (like us), this type of tidal mudflat is not something you’d expect. Be very careful near the shoreline during low tide and ask the resort staff for guidance.

The resort itself is beautiful, but I strongly suggest they add signage and safety guidance about the beach to help guests avoid what we went through.

Restaurant is wonderful. Chef's excellent. We had the Tomahawk Steak, it was perfection. We were surprised with every meal.

I’ve stayed at most resorts in the Penasco area but this was my first time at Laguna and it was the perfect place for my family. Quiet, modern and amazing staff!! We will be back.

Pros:

Broken dark shade, headboard, hot tub, luke warm water in sink and shower. Bugs on the floor everyday. After many complaints no comps. With one day left they offered to move us but we already had packed and was leaving. Staff answer was “I Don’t Know” to everything. Ice was $3 a bag. Dirt roads and
long drive to other restaurants. I could go on but you get the picture. I wouldn’t recommend this location to my worst enemy. Take them off your sight.

We loved our stay at Laguena Shores! The rooms were beautiful as well as the beautiful infinity pool with its stunning ocean views! The resturant onsite is excellent from the five star food and an amazing staff! Thank you Ernesto and Miguel for taking great care of us. We are big fans! Laguena Shores will be our home away from home for many years to come!

Pros:

We love this place. Very quiet which is nice. But the high tide comes in late morning and goes out a couple of hours later. This was fine for us but others in our party wanted to swim in the ocean.

The food at the pool is amazing!!
