Everything was amazing we highly recommend this hotel and already have plans to come back
Nothing
Friendly and helpful staff
Room was very small
Everything except room
Room and bathroom were disgusting
Room was very small. We usually leave the bathroom light on with door on a crack as a night light. Exhaust fan and light were one and the same so it was too noisy to leave it on.
Breakfast was expensive, so I didn’t have any. Loved the bedding, soft and comfy, and internet was good. Netflix connected fine. People that worked there sweet. Nobody at desk at checkout, but they followed up immediately with email. The staff at the restaurant were very attentive, and the food was great. Met a friend…we had trout and swordfish…excellent.
At checkin after a long drive and with luggage, it was very difficult to drag my stuff over ice, and up stairs, and no help was offered, even though I’m 77. I’m sure if I’d asked, I’d have gotten what I needed.
The location
We stayed at the Compass Point building and it just wasn’t as clean or welcoming as the main hotel.
Hotel is a beautiful historic hotel. However, room was tiny and dirty. Rug and tile floor had not been cleaned in a long time.
Can't miss the big sign from the road Hotel Saranac. Easy to locate, there is an underground garage, which was appreciated on a snowy night. Staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are nice, comfortable and quite. The one downside is there is limited space in the bathroom clothing.
The Campfire restaurant is excellent, I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. I suggest making reservations if the area is busy.
Within walking distance is a Grand Union supermarket, Walgreens, churches, shops and parks. Good location.
The drive to Lake Placid is about 15-20 minutes, which is an easy drive.
The hotel was Beautiful with that 40’s charm. It’s in a great location next to restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking. Dinner at the Campfire Restaurant was amazing.
The hotel is great. I have been there times.
This time I got the cheapest room and it was so so sad
The breakfast was nice ( not free) but nice and the location for my purposes was great.
No dinner
Rooms were clean
