TV didn’t have good reception so not watchable

This was one of the filthiest and most disgusting hotels I’ve ever had the misfortune of staying in. As soon as I walked into the reception, I knew my room was going to be dirty. The reception area absolutely stunk of body odour, it was so strong it made me want to gag. The glass had fingerprints on and the stairs were dirty. This isn’t the first impression a customer should ever have. When I went into my room, at first glance it looked clean, that was until I opened the toilet lid and there was remnants of human faeces still in the bowl and the shower was thick with calcified dirty and grime. I went down to reception to let them know and wasn’t given a sorry or an offer of another room, which was my second red flag. Instead he said “I’ll get the cleaner” “do you have pictures” and “can I see”. Once I seen the “cleaner”, I understood why the rooms were filthy. Just a young lad, in scruffy clothes, no uniform looking like he just woke up and left his bedroom. So unprofessional. I took them both up to the room and again once they seen the poo, I didn’t get an apology just an offer to clean it, which I accepted but this was clearly an average day for them, any normal hotel staff would be mortified and they were completely unbothered. On top of that when he seen the built in grime around the shower he said “this will take longer to get off” you don’t say! That’s because it’s never been cleaned properly a day in its life. In hindsight I should’ve asked for another room, but I’d been travelling for 3 hours and had work to do and In all honesty from the smell in reception to the look of the staff I assumed all rooms would be just as vile. After work, when I went to get in the shower I noticed even more disgusting filth. Thick black pubes next to the toilet, filthy floor, hair everywhere, grime on the radiator, marks all over the walls. So I went on Deliveroo and ordered myself £40 worth of cleaning products and a pillowcase.

Small room with cheaply done curtains that didn’t fit the full window and a shower that was stuck on boiling hot and a sink that was extremely slow to drain.

Tiny ensuite and low water pressure was a little bit challenging.

The curtains in the bedroom let a lot of light , didnt fit properly

The road is a bit noisy. The bed is classic 1.4 m wide, so, a bit cramped.

you need to keep in your mind that visiting the city central is not in a walking distamce and you need to use bus or taxi.

The property itself was not clean enough.

The 4 stars part is extremely misleading, this is a 2 star hotel all day long.
Very dirty and I’m not exaggerating at all. Everything is very dated and dusty. The toilet near the reception was dirtier than one at any airport, disgusting. The bathroom in our room had dust, molds and hair on the floor, clearly lacking cleaning and proper hotel management.
No air conditioning, but a noisy ventilator - in a 4 stars hotel?
Breakfast is extremely basic and if you are late (around 9am), all tables are taken and you have to wait until someone will finish and then wait another 15 mins until they will clean that table.
The personnel was very cold, no warm welcome, very transactional. There was no one there at the check-out, the cleaning lady told me to leave the key in the box.
We stayed only one night, luckily, but left very disappointed.
