Buen servicio
They're always friendly and helpful.
Nice staff and helpful. Our plane got in hours later than it was supposed to and accommodated us genially.
We enjoy the breakfast courtyard and all the plants
This hotel has 2 address listings for some reason. I'm reviewing on both.
If you book a room for 2 people, they expect you to pay an extra 200 quetzales per person that VISITS your room. So if you want to bring an additional friend over for 10 minutes, you must pay. If you switch the person you're going to share the room with, it's extra 200... Pretty ridiculous, but that's not the best bit.
My friend and I were starving because we skipped dinner and it was near 1am. We asked them if we can leave the locked premises to get food for 1-2 hours, they said it's fine and just knock or ring the doorbell and they'd let us back in.
Well, we got back and no answer, tried to call them, message them via the booking service, knock and rang the doorbell for 30 minutes with weird people around feeling a bit unsafe... Nothing. They didn't keep their word. We had to stay in the $2 per person hotel across the street with cockroaches around the room. pfff (This is not an exaggeration)
Me encantó, un lugar sencillo pero acogedor y un personal muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar.
Hermosa estadía
staff was great - looked after providing early morning transportation to the airport, ensured it was on time.
Un hotel muy centrico, seguro. Sus habitaciones son sensillas va de acorde al precio.
very good for the price
Not too clean. Rooms laid out in awkward ways. Rude staff.
Muy lindo el hotel y el desayuno muy rico lástima que el último día aunque dijimos q salíamos más temprano desde el día anterior no nos prepararon nada.
The receptionis was very efficient. But the cleannines of room disatisfied completely. Noises all night long. No TV working, no Wi-fi. I don't recommended it any more. It was a good place to stay, no more.
Very helpful staff, spacious room and well kept up.
OK, it’s cheap and in a very convenient location for city centre sightseeing. However, it’s lacklustre, just about clean and the staff are civil but not friendly.
The coffee available in the cafe area by reception is tolerable.
It was close to the main plaza in Zona 1. I felt safe there.
Nice patio filled with plants - colonial style.
I wasn’t happy about the receptionist, a nice girl trying to do her best but unfortunately unable to help her customers with the essentials like : where to find a travel agency open on Sunday, and knew nothing about transport out of town. Seemed only to know about one specific driver who could take us places and have us pay a lot for his services.
Also the breakfast served the hotel was quite decent but way too expensive.
Although the street on which the hotel was situated looks a bit derelict, the hotel is a short walk to a nice street with lots of shops and restaurants. In general, for the price, the room was a good deal.
I stayed before change of ownership and about a two year lapse of going back. The old owners did nothing and it was an uncomfortable hotel, reason for the two year lapse. Went back and big change, for the better. I live in Guatemala and use this hotel quite frequently, good value for your money.
We decided to stay here in an attempt to save a little money. This is a reasonably nice hotel, but I can not recommend it due to their unusual surcharges. We arrived late at night (around 10:30pm) and the entire hotel was completely dark inside. There were no lights on in any of the hallways or the lobby, and they did not turn them on for us when we arrived. If it was not for the “flashlight” option on my phone, I would have had a hard time climbing the stairs to my room. The room was comfortable, however I didn’t notice when I booked the reservation that there is a “surcharge” for the “airport shuttle”. (Every other hotel I have stayed at in Guatemala City has offered a complimentary airport shuttle). Their “shuttle” was actually just a taxicab they called for us, who directly charged us Q180 for the ride. This is much higher than the usual rate we have paid for a similar cab ride in the past. Also, buried in the fine print, which I failed to notice until later, was a $15 surcharge, per night, for having a second person in the room. Add this all up, and our stay here was actually more expensive than it would have been at our preferred hotel in the same area, the Hotel Royal Palace. My recommendation is to skip this one and just stay at the Royal Palace instead, especially if you have more than one person with you. The Royal Palace has a much better location, better facilities, better service, a better restaurant, free airport shuttle, and no unexpected surcharges.
The Hotel is small but very quiet it’s clean and found what I needed a clean and comfortable bed hot water and working bathroom. I don’t recommend the restaurant it’s expensive for the kind of menu they have
Good location in Zone 1. Clean. Secure. Accessible. Friendly staff.
