Goid value, clean, modern hotel in a fantastic location
Pros:

This is a basic Japanese style hotel, but it is clean, everything works, comfortable, and goid value for Japan. Checkin was quick and easy, as was checkout. Location is fantastic... easy walking to station, loads of food and drink outlets, thr Castle and other tourist streets.

Cons:

It would gave been nice to have drinking water in the roo. and basic coffee and tea in reception as with other hotel chains. But a vending machine is available.

Comfortable hotel with easy access to everything in Matsumoto
Pros:

The hotel was a quick 10 minute walk to the station and everything we wanted to see. The staff were lovely and were happy to assist with anything we needed. The hotel rooms were clean and the breakfast was a good selection of western foods.

Cons:

The bed was a little too small for us and a little bouncy.

Clean, Comfortable Hotel in an Excellent Location for Kamikochi Trips
Pros:

We enjoyed a very comfortable 2-night stay at the Richmond Hotel Matsumoto and would highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area, especially for day trips to Kamikochi.

The hotel’s biggest advantage is its excellent location, just a short walk from both Matsumoto Station and the bus terminal. This made our stay extremely convenient, particularly as we had an early 5:30am bus booked to Kamikochi. Being able to simply walk to the bus terminal without any stress or early transport planning was a major plus.

The hotel itself is modern, clean, and well maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our room was quiet and well designed, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt very calm and relaxing despite its central location. The beds were comfortable, and the room size was practical for a short stay.

Facilities and amenities were also very good, including reliable Wi-Fi, in-room essentials, and thoughtful conveniences that make travel easier. The hotel provides a good balance of comfort and functionality, which is ideal for both short stays and travel stopovers.

Staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in and check-out were smooth. The overall service contributed to a hassle-free experience.

Overall, Richmond Hotel Matsumoto is a highly convenient, clean, and comfortable hotel in a perfect location for exploring Matsumoto or accessing Kamikochi, and we would happily stay again.
