Lovely stay in charming Delamater Inn in beautiful Rhinebeck.
Pros:

Staff was very friendly, room was charming and very clean, bed was comfortable, sherry in the room was a nice touch, continental breakfast was nice, loved the location to the town. The town is so cute. We had a great lunch at the Beekman Arms Tavern and a nice dinner later at Terrapin. We also went to Milea winery for a wine tasting, it was beautiful. It was a great trip!

Cons:

Nothing

Pros:

The guest house was rather run down and a little shabby for the price and the breakfast was disappointing- no fresh fruit with yogurt, just barely edible canned peaches. The breads and bagels were low end supermarket, nothing fresh from a bakery

Pros:

The restaurant and bar.

Cons:

Where we stayed! Didn’t realize when we booked, we were staying down the street in an old apartment building and not not the Beekman Hotel.

Good location in a quaint town.
Pros:

Love the lobby of the Beekman Arms!! A trip back in time full of rich history. Very pleasant staff. Enjoyed our meal at the tavern. Great food and atmosphere.

Cons:

Weather was bad and hiking a block to breakfast was less than pleasant. And breakfast was really disappointing. I have eaten breakfast at other historic inns and they make an effort to serve something special and homemade. This was on par with bulk bake goods at Best Western or Holiday Inn. Straight from Costco or Walmart.

You do need to warn guests that you have lots of stairs with no elevators and multiple buildings that are not adjacent or connected.

We would love to come again and stay over the Tavern!
Pros:

We just had the continental breakfast that was offered across from the Inn on Saturday which was adequate. We stayed at the Delamater Inn as there were no rooms above the Tavern available with a king-sized bed for our dates. But we attended the Brunch at the Tavern on Sunday and that was perfect (except the maple syrup was not real maple syrup). Loved the omelette station which was fabulous, and all the food was very nice. We absolutely loved the location with all the restaurants within walking distance. We had dinner on Saturday night at the Tavern which was very good.

Cons:

We would have preferred to stay at the main building but there wasn't a room available for our dates with a king-sized bed so we stayed at the Delamater Inn. Although we loved the location, there were some things that we did not love. The bed was way too soft and felt like it was not just a soft mattress, but rather really old. We both sunk to the middle of the mattress. The shower curtain was ripped in a couple of places and there was a pretty big mold stain above the tub. The remote for the television didn't work so we had to get batteries from the front desk which helped, but the remote still seemed to stick and we really had to push the buttons hard and a few times before it would change the channel. The front window (we were in room 76) had moisture between the two panes of glass that made it so you could not see out the window at all and it looked like mold was in there too. I kind of expected a bit more of a traditional old-fashioned look in the room since the Tavern is so old, I thought the rooms would take on that motif. I see that the curtains around the bed's headboard are an attempt at trying to look old and antique-ish, but the click together flooring takes away from the old-fashioned charm I assume you are going for. But we did LOVE the location and the huge Wisteria out in front. The town of Rhinebeck is very charming, I just expected more for a room that costs over $600 for two nights.

Overall quaint town. Easily walkable. Main building/tavern was nice.
Pros:

Breakfast was just ok. Beagles/pastries were dried out. Hard boiled eggs hard. Arrangement of food was a nice set up

Cons:

Confusion on where to check in.

Enjoyable, convenient and comfortable, in need of TLC.
Pros:

The historic architecture and important archival images throughout the facility. Friendliness of the majority of the staff. Convenience of location.

Cons:

I think the facility, especially in the common areas, sorely needs careful Interior Design input. For example, the sitting room on the main floor. The furniture is in dire need of new, historically appropriate new upholstery. The bookshelves behind the sofa are a hot mess of photos of former guests. While, it is a quaint idea to display these images, they have no meaning to most guests and detract from the historic ambiance we seek when we stay at the Beekman Arms. These items can be more tastefully displayed as a group either in a reserved section of said room or in another area - perhaps the restaurant. The absence of interior design finesse that could link our shared colonial history to contemporary use in the lobby is lost and deeply detracts from one's overall experience at Americas premier historic hotel. With not much expense, an easy upgrade of the reception area would immediately underline the importance of your guests 1st impression of the uniqueness of the Beekman Arms's historic and aesthetic importance for our nation.

Pros:

Start from the understanding that this property is hundreds of years old. The historic authenticity is the charm. The location is excellent. The team beginning with Alexandria could not be more welcoming and professional.
