Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen

I stayed in an excellent room for an incredible price, the check-in, check-out (especially Cherie), concierge, Rock Royalty Lounge, Hard Rock Cafe, room service, and housekeeping staffs were just so attentive, warm, welcoming, and lovely to interact with. I truly miss this level of hospitality now that I'm in Malaysia, where the exact opposite it true. I hope to stay at the other Hard Rock properties in China as soon as I have the chance! Thank you Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen!

Also, this hotel's Hard Rock Café will always be special to me because of the tireless work ethic and kindness of its main worker, who I sadly never caught the name of, and she was the reason why we decided to dine two nights in a row here. She was so attentive, and the service was so fast. To see her managing the dining area, bar, and Rock Shop so effortlessly and always with a smile was so inspiring and heartwarming. She also was incredibly polite with my large order at the Rock Shop so late at night, and her English language skills were the best I witnessed not only throughout the entire hotel, but throughout Shenzhen!

I love that there is a live plant in the bathroom. It made the room feel less cold.
I loved that the quilt has a proper quilt cover on it, and it is not sandwiched between 2 flat sheets.
The shower was great, with nice water pressure.

Perfect location for our needs, exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff, room was very big with cool decor, free guitar rental was fun.

Situated in the Mission Hills area, Hard Rock Shenzhen is a good base to start your exploration of the surrounding area. Most of the visitors I noticed were families as there were plenty of things to do there, like the Harry Potter forbidden forest, the snow world and the eco park, etc.

The hotel was launched in 2017 but it must have undergone renovations as the rooms still looked and felt modern and new to me. You could find USB charging ports and LED lights on the bathroom mirror. Besides the modern amenities, the room itself was spacious, with a large round bath tub as well as separate area for shower and toilet.

As for all hard rock hotels, you could borrow guitars and vinyl records so you could basically enjoy your own music inside your room. (although we didn't have time nor the talent to try these out… but they actually included a crash course on guitar playing on the TV! How thoughtful!)

There was a swimming pool at the roof top but it was winter so perhaps it was not the best time to try it out. Breakfast served was buffet with both Western and Chinese food like congee and dumplings that you would get in most hotels in China.

Now for the area of improvement - My only complaint was the lounge. We had opted to buy the lounge package (Royal Royalty King room) that included access to the lounge during our stay, Having been to a lounge in Hong Kong, I was really surprised the lounge was just another room that looked like a restaurant than a lounge. There were tables and chairs but no comfortable sofas and space that you would expect from a proper lounge. Even the food choice was bad. You only got a tiramisu or strawberry (bite-sized) cakes and slices of watermelons and dragon fruits and that's all. Drinks were self-served from a coffee machine or from tea bags, or u could get a can of coke or a lager from the fridge. There was a bar that had no one. Comparatively, in HK proper drinks were served from your seat and they had afternoon tea time with proper sandwiches/canapés and desserts and then a sunset happy hour session with different food and drinks. Even the paid lounges in the airports were better. So don't bother paying extra for the upgrade as it was not worth the price. (though tbh, it was not much)

Overall, I think this hotel is worth your money if you need to stay in the area. The staff service was exceptional. I am a Hard Rock pin collector and before I booked the hotel I asked if they would sell any pins there and they not only answered my query but also went to take and sent me pictures of the pins available. I think this was definitely above and beyond.

Staff were very helpful and responsive. Rooms were available before check in time and good flexibility about check in and check out hours

Huge room but the kids playroom needs renewing

Jeg likte store rom, godt brukt men rent. Gode senger. Personellet var veldig serviceminded og ga god hjelp når jeg ba om det. Frokostenrestauranten hadde mye å velge i, garantert noe for enhver smak.

The worst executive lounge I've ever experienced, and I've been to many. They only served a few cookies, bread and peanuts. We had to ask to get additional food, which they provided only after asking, and then it took more than an hour to get it. Also, the following day, after I had ordered room service, someone came into my room while I was away at breakfast, even though I had the "do not disturb" sign on, and took out what was left of my room service meal. They came into my room without asking while I was gone. It made me feel very uncomfortable.
