Peaceful atmosphere, beautiful grounds with amazing trees in garden
Excellent service by staff. Comfortable, clean and spacious room.
The images on the website are if the Old Lodge. This is not, however, where we were accommodated: when we arrived, we were told to walk down the road, which has a narrow footpath, which at the time was not usable due to roadworks, to an annexe. When I booked the accommodation, it probably told me that this is what I had paid for, but in small print. It was a bit disappointing, but we did make use of the gardens and bar during the morning of our departure and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
Liked the grounds and garden
No one there to book us in. Eventually a cleaner went to find the receptionist who hadn’t heard the bell !!
The location of the main hotel was good but the annex down the road is not in a good location
Our room(No 14) was a small double with nowhere to store suitcases. The bed was hard and the tv was very small. The bathroom was particularly disappointing as there were no shelves so we had to put our toilet bags on the floor. The shower cubicle was also small with no soap tray and the light was so dim it was impossible to shave with or put makeup on. The towels had lost their soft feel through overuse and constant laundering.
Amazing.building ,rooms and grounds
Full of character
Excellent food and service
A little ‘tired’ but improvement s underway
Exactly as described, stopped one night and excellent location. Friendly receptionist. Didn’t eat or drink so can’t comment . Stopped in the white Swann rooms which was the cheapest option, modern , good value for money. Can also park at the main building which was good
Huge bathroom was great , only a ‘ telephone style’ tap which was good for washing hair but not for a shower. Lots of space so suggestion would be to install a free standing shower. This didn’t bother us as only staying one night , but would if staying longer
The breakfast was nice. Liked the old style manor
Quiet area outside with nice view of manor
The staff were friendly
Room was Smaller than expected so not much room to move around the room and was very hot and stuffy
Some other guests seemed rude to staff on breakfast
This is a fabulous Grade 2* listed property that is steeped in history. The garden to the rear of the property is large, well maintained and has some fabulous old trees some of which are probably centuries old.
The staff were all great and we had the opportunity to speak to the owner who told us about the history of the property which was fascinating.
The room was quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable and very much in keeping with the historic nature of the building.
We had dinner at the hotel which was great value and I can highly recommend the fish pie. The breakfast was equally tasty and filling.
This is my first visit to Malton and it is a fabulous market town with a great variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants I just wish I'd had more time to explore it - maybe next time.
The worst rooms , don’t believe the Ai generated images in the advert it’s a dirty smelly disgusting place AVOID
Beautiful looking property as you drive up set in nice gardens. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Excellent cooked breakfast!
Hotel needs lots of tlc . Our room was too small, poor lighting and the bathroom
Light cord was broken so green garden twine was the replacement!
Locality to the centre excellent breakfast with great service
Altho it was having important work done outside ,the first thing you see are dead conifers outside the entrance and dead box hedging thats blighted. extensive grounds lacking any colourful 💐 i hope the new owners will add this to enhance the experience .I expected it to be a bit more grand at 4 🌟
we did not stay in the main hotel but we were in the annex which was a shame when we arrived we got all excited as never having stayed in this kind of building before so we don't know much about it we only used the bar which was lovely and the restaurant for a lovely breakfast, oh and walked around the garden.
We did like it but thought we were staying in the main building not a separate annex which was nowhere as nice as the main rooms I expect.
Lovely building staff were very nice and great breakfast
All good
