Be prepared for an interesting room
Pros:

The atmosphere and the renewed decor

Cons:

For the price the room was very small and the toilet had a slide door which due to weight was almost impossible to move. So uncomfortable when going toilet

An experience
Pros:

Food and staff were excellent.

Cons:

Very small hot bedroom (101) about 9ft x 10ft there was very little space for bags or anything so the floor was used and we had to be carefull not to trip over them.
Noisy Hotel Kitchen aircon Unitil 10:30 outside the vey hard to open window, but also waitrose nextdoor had a very high pitched aircon/extracter going all night. Doors in hotel were always slamming from other guests which made the walls shudder, so early night is out of the question. the ensuite was tiny. The shower was big enough but tiny sink and a very noisy slidding door which didn't seem to be on runners just slidding over the floor. No hot water in the morning.

Great location,food nothing special.
Pros:

Lovely location with nicely set out, clean restaurant. Food was expensive for what it was - arrived simply on a plate rather than being presented with any apparent flair or imagination. Expensive for what were small portions across all courses. Steak was cold rather than warm having been rested. Chips were excellent however. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Pros:

Very clean, all but one of the staff were very pleasant, lots of parking, spaces, had a fan in the room which was needed and liked the nearby Waitrose.

Cons:

Room was small - shower was so small it was difficult to get in. For the price, breakfast was very ungenerous. 1 mushroom, half a tomato, 1 medium sausage .... it was like rationing. Toast was 1 piece of bread cut in half, the coffee jug provided one cup. I disliked keeping having to ask for more. No glasses for fruit juice on the second day, and the fruit was all lumped together so difficult to select.

Beautiful building, comfortable bed and great hospitality
Pros:

What a beautiful stay we had here, the staff are so helpful and the bedrooms had everything in to make our stay comfortable, even during a heat wave! the fan was a welcomed addition. Food in the restaurant was lovely. I will stay again for sure. Next time i will get around to playing the giant Jenga!

beautiful and will definitely stay again
Pros:

lovely breakfast, evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly and easy going, allowing us to be flexible with our table booking to allow us to meet and have a drink outside in the sunshine before dining

Cons:

The door would benefit from having a carpet strip on it to block out the landing lights, which were on 24hours and did shine through the gap under the door. Tiny thing really and easily corrected with a rolled up towel on the floor
