The location was very good. Easy walk to boulevard and to the city centre. The room was clean and had a large couch, which was convenient. Netflix was available. Staff were really very friendly. Nice swimming pool (which we used with pleasure) and even a sauna (which we did not use). Breakfast was good. Beds were good too. It was very hot when we stayed here. The hotel provided 2 fans, which we very much appreciated.
Maybe it's a typical complaint from foreigners: why is it always needed to shower in the bathtub, while staying in British hotels? We consider this very unpleasant, especially when there is a shower curtain that keeps on wrapping itself around you while showering. In this room the curtain was even very close as it was hanging 10 or 20 centimetres within the bathtub. Also the water pressure was low and it took very long before the water to get warm. So the shower experience was not what we would expect from a quality hotel.
Friendly staff, cool decor, attention to detail, closeness to Shanklin village & beach, pool & jacuzzi!
Drinks were expensive!
Excellent breakfast pached eggs brilliantly cooked
Nothing
Good breakfast and bar prices very reasonable.
Very low water pressure so showers weren't the best.
Staff were excellent.
Facilities were OK
Breakfast good
The rooms desperately need updating!
Big horrible bath, with rust, with a very disappointing shower and cracked tiles on bathroom floor.
severe lack of storage space in bathroom, found ourselves balancing wash bags on Cistern?
Modernization needs to be on the cards to make this a great hotel!
Breakfast was very nice
Poor showers
Ok breakfast very good
The bar not open late
Swimming pool welcome in the heatwave, though overheated and scruffy, steps coming out of concrete, didn't feel safe.
Breakfast well cooked, though limited choice and no effort to cater for gluten free other than toast, or any alternative milks/teas/coffees.
Bed large and comfortable.
Bar staff friendly
2nd floor room scruffy, small, bath tiny, shower useless with very low water pressure and hot water taking several minutes to come through if at all, sometimes no water at all as it would simply stop. No safety hand rail to help get in or out the bath - crazy.
Toilet didn't flush properly, taking several minutes to refill.
Windows difficult to open and needed to get help to do so one day.
Staying during a heatwave, this made for a very uncomfortable and unpleasant stay. Am going home desperate for a decent shower and hair wash. Problem was mentioned and owner said she'd contact Maintenance, but they already knew of problems. Nothing changed and l washed my hair in the sink using a plastic pint cup. This is not what a Deluxe Double should be like!
Toiletries and teas/coffees not replenished without asking...
No food not even icecream available during the day (on hottest day on record) although iced water was available. .
I could go on....
Not all bad, just deeply disappointed and am feeling cheated at over £200 per night.
Adequate breakfast
Didn't try cooked breakfast.
No evening meal on offer.
Helpful staff.
Good location for beach and local pubs
Very cramped bedroom.
No air conditioning
Step into bathroom
Very old bath. enamel worn off
Great staff who went out of their way to welcome us and accommodate all our needs. Gary and his wife were so friendly and helpful and were able to give us local information which was very helpful. The barman/Reception guy was so friendly and helpful despite only being in his job a few days! This hotel is lucky to have such amazing staff!! The Reception, bar and outdoor area had been updated to a high standard and looked really good. We didn’t stay for breakfast but it all looked well presented.
The bathrooms were very dated. The shower over the bath was poor. It took a long time for hot water to come through and when it did it was a long way from a power shower!!? The bedrooms were very small and cramped.
Great Location, Excellent hotel and service
The young lad who greeted us when we arrived was friendly, welcoming and even helped carry our bags. He was fantastic! The breakfast was great!!
The sink was in the bedroom and not in the bathroom
Hotel is located in excellent place, close to the sea, shops, restaurants and attractions. Excellent staff, the young chap who’s the hotel manager is just a delight to deal with, nothing was a problem. It was a pleasure to talk to him when he had spare few minutes. Above and beyond!do not let him go! Very friendly atmosphere and amazing decor throughout the hotel! Loved it!
The room could be a bit bigger and the hotel would hugely benefit if there was hot snacks/ dinners available. But we liked everything about the hotel.

Swimming pool

Not professionally decorated
