From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted.
The Langkawi Tourism Fee will be changed to RM10 per room, per day starting 1st January 2025 onwards in line with the Langkawi Municipal Council.
For key events, a charge of RM20 per night will apply. Key events include Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA), Le Tour De Langkawi, Ironman, and Oceanman Malaysia.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. This hotel was amazing, I’d recommend to anyone the hotel room and the spa were to die for!! We will definitely be coming back!
This hotel really is everything and more. From arrival, right through to checkout, the place and the staff totally exceeded our expectations. We were warmly welcomed on arrival with a drink and snacks, and then taken to our room via buggy. The room was decorated for our honeymoon, which was a lovely touch. And wow, the room- gorgeous! and it wasn't even one of the suites! The room was cleaned daily and kind, sweet touches were left.
The facilities at the hotel are great. We used the gym and the adults pool which were great! The grounds are kept immaculate. The private beach is stunning and we hired out paddle boards for a reasonable price. Kayaks also available. The spa was also a lovely treat.
The breakfast was superb- so much choice from the buffet, but also an option to order from a menu. Just watch out for those cheeky monkeys who like to steal your food!! The choice of restaurants and food options is fab, and the sunsets from Horizon, beach grill and Hai yan are really special.
The staff at The Ritz Carlton really can't do enough for you, and nothing is too much trouble. The service was excellent and we can't recommend this place enough! A truly special place that we will always remember.

- amazing cleaning service by our house cleaner Mr Khadga. Thank you!! Everyday was perfect clean and the bug issues previously refered were not due to lack of cleanliness but to lack of building or sewer isolation.

In the end this a resort with a lot going for it and a lot going against it and lots of things could be improved.. (beach area, pools area much bigger, more activities, better decor, rooms renovation..). Luxury is in the details, and details are just not here.. at least for now...
Negatives:
- some ants and even a coackroach was found on the bathroom. This is an isolation or poor repelent condition that should be improved.
- condition bathroom - broken tiles, rusty finishes, dirty outside windows.
- main pool crazy white paint dissolving in the water. Main pool layout very cramped and not elegant.
- horizon bar should be totally renovated. Ugly decor.
- better plants layout to cover some areas.
- lack of complementary activities. By the third day everyone was bored.
- very bad smell in the reception lobby due to strange plant scent selection in this area.
- bed very soft
- breakfast repetitive. Big lines to enter breakfast ate pick hours. Egg station lacking quality every single day! Fruit station lacking options and most unripe everytime. Too much focus on curries recipes.
- buggies taking too long and not well distributed through the property.
- beach grill decor lacking and not elegant.
- library with few books.
- sewer smell around horizon bar backwards.

My husband and I loved everything here! From the moment you enter the lobby to the transition to the rooms, and the overall experience of staying at Ritz Carlton - it’s simply a dream and a delight. The staff were always smiling and were ever so caring and helpful. The hospitality of Mimi and Saifuddin (and so many other staff members but didn’t catch their names) are unmatched. If you’re looking for the perfect stay in Langkawi, look no further!
Loved everything!
The beautifully landscaped gardens, stunning architecture, and outstanding facilities made the resort exceptional. The infinity pool, beach, restaurants, and bars were all superb, but what truly set the property apart was the staff. Their warmth, professionalism, and incredible attention to detail made our stay unforgettable.
The room could have benefited from the use of deodorisers or a fresher scent. Aside from this small detail, everything else met or exceeded our expectations.
The combination of rain forest and beach was amazing and to have so many restaurants, activities and a private beach on the property was exceptional
Nothing to not like it was all great
Great setting and beautiful grounds surrounded by nature. The gym was excellent and open 24/7. Food was generally good and the pool bar was enjoyable
We experienced constant issues with the rooms (111/112). In room 111 something broke almost every day: AC not working, then the TV, then a water/tap issue, which meant repeated late maintenance visits. Before departure, room 112 had a non-working phone, making it hard to contact reception/buggy service. Despite these repeated problems, there was no meaningful service recovery (no upgrade/compensation). The assigned butler (Nargis) was not proactive: no direct contact, no check-ins, no help with bookings, and late check-out was initially treated as potentially chargeable even though our transfer was at 15:00. Sunbeds were limited (often difficult to find loungers at the adults’ pool) and breakfast could be crowded with queues
