Beautiful layout. Rooms were clean and had a great bathroom and shower. Rooftop bar was great had live music the night we stayed.
Loading and unloading your car. On a street that had traffic. Parking off sight was a little problematic when it was raining
Nice hotel. New Marriott concept. Resembles boutique hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Very nice room. Only issue is that bar closed hour early just as a few customers came down for cocktail. Would highly recommend if you want to stay downtown.
This is now our favorite hotel when visiting our son at college out in the QC area. The rooms are nice and comfortable. They're spacious too, so you don't feel crammed into some tine shoe box of a room. Yes, it's near the trains, as most hotels in this area are, but they do have a sound machine in the room, which is great. I use one at home, so it's nice to have it here as well.
We have stayed there a few times this year, but in September, we were able to enjoy the rooftop patio! It has some great sofas to sit on, we had a drink and some appetizers, and just enjoyed the views. We also went back later at night, it was definitely busier, but not crowded.
The only reason I don't give them 5 stars, is because they charge $22/night for parking in the lot. I'm used to that in the big cities, but I don't see the reason for it here. Just tie it to the reservation and the key card. I understand wanting to prevent outsiders from using it, although the area isn't that busy. And yes, there is some street parking around, but we like to keep our cars off the streets when possible. I just wish they would get rid of that charge, or just roll it into the booking fees.
Nothing
Upon getting to the hotel, we had to wait 15-minutes for someone to come to the front desk. I paid for an extra large suit, thinking it would be cleaner and nicer. I was wrong. The hotel is rundown and trashy. The room was so bad I took some pictures, grabbed my bags, and walked right out. We ended up going to a different hotel at 11pm. Do not recommend this property.
The app said breakfast included. It was not. Very disappointing
Paying for breakfast that was supposed to be included
Everyone was so friendly and nice! Super clean!
Clean and nice staff!
Room and the hotel were very nice and better than I expected. Staff were very nice as well.
Unfortunately, we encountered several issues that impacted our experience. The heating system in our room made a loud crashing noise every time it cycled on or off, and the proximity to the train tracks resulted in being woken up by Amtrak trains around 4:00 AM each morning.
Regarding the amenities, we were disappointed that the lobby bar remained closed throughout the week. While we understand occupancy may have been low, the lobby bar provides an upscale atmosphere and easier access than the rooftop bar. Furthermore, we were surprised to find drinks and food served in plastic cups, plates and utensils, particularly as the rooftop was closed for winter and there were no pool or hot tub facilities in use.
On New Year’s Eve, we hoped to enjoy a glass of champagne in our room. We were informed that we could only get a drink at the rooftop bar until 9:00 PM, and when we asked for other options, we were advised to go elsewhere. When we did visit the rooftop bar, the only champagne available was a basic screwtop brand served in a plastic cup.
As a Bonvoy member, I am extremely disappointed in this stay and cannot recommend this location to others.
The staff
Our room needed several things fixed in it . The sink was clogged, the fan didn’t work, no tv remote, some outlets didn’t work so it made our stay difficult
The vibe of the place is relaxed and modern. The check in experience was a breeze and the staff was friendly. When I got to the room, I was instantly amazed at the high ceiling and the details that made it stand out from other hotel rooms, such as the unique light fixtures, marble floors, huge windows, barn-door panel to cover the closet, bathrobes, Keurig coffee maker, weighing scale and bidet in the bathroom and even the folded end of the toilet roll to make it look like a flower (See pictures). As others have mentioned, the sound of the train horn can be clearly heard in the room (mine was facing downtown). Also, to get wifi, you have to sign up for their loyalty program. Check out was painless as well. The hotel parking lot was full so I parked on the street, which was a bit nerve wracking but it turned out okay as my car was still there unscathed the following morning.
Clean room
The check in lady was not friendly
The head of housekeeping was fantastic and making our stay was perfect! I will come back here to this hotel every time I’m in town!
We were celebrating our anniversary and excited to try this hotel, however after our experience we wouldn’t stay there again. The first room we were given was dirty, which the front desk begrudgingly swapped for us. The new room was 60 degrees, but warmed up while we were having dinner at the rooftop bar. Great space! Service was bad despite being wide open. Our toilet had a horrid smell despite appearing clean. Pool was so filthy and had piles of brown grunge in the corners so we didn’t use it. Loud hallways, and middle of the night disturbances. This hotel has potential but needs a major shift in attention to cleanliness, maintenance and service. Wish I had thought to get photos.
Nice location
Staff is not friendly to 3rd party reservation jolders.
Room decor was trendy and bathroom was completely updated which was nice.
