La Vela Khao Lak

We were picked up at the airport in a seamless manner. We were welcomed with a better room than we booked. The "Welcome back" and fruit platter was very nice. Yes, we were returning costumers. We LOVE this hotel in Thailand in the summer. It's quiet, esquisit service and a wonderful ambiance. As my teen daughter said : "Nice vibes".
Everything is clean and well cared after.
The App was a nice addition. Booking massages, timing the roomservice etc via app is easy. But I have to say that everyone is very service minded and help you with anything you need. I can not single out anyone, as everyone was wonderfully helpful.
The breakfast is superb! They recognise you and make it easy if you have special order/diets.
The restaurant and the chefs were as talented as last time. Do not worry ordering tings you are uncertain of, you will be plesantly surprised. Its more expensive than restaurants outside the resort, but its woth it. I felt disappointed by the local restaurants as the food tasted bland. There was a pizza place close by that was wery good. The coffee bar down the street that's a part of the La Vela/La Flora was very nice.
The Bang Niang Night marked was as expected. You should definitly buy the frozen fruit smoothie they sell close to the entrance. The mango one is epic!
After 3 weeks it was two guests who reluctantly returned home. We could have stayed forever.

Hello, we chose this hotel for spending xmas time there. There' s so much to do! First of all i have to mention Mr Aod, a muay thai coach. Every morning after delicious breakfast my husband had a private muay thai lesson with Mr Aod. We also thanks for Xmas evening. We hope to come back next year and recommend this resort.

Without a doubt the best hotel in Khao Lak for location, friendliness and amenities, We have stayed here several times and it feels like a homecoming being known to so many staff. They really go out of their way. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the beach club and breakfast restaurants are well stocked and are highlights. The hotel spa staff are amazing and are obviously well trained, unlike the massage places outside the hotel. Spending a couple of weeks here is a fantastic way to unwind. Will be going back.

Second time visiting this hotel and resort, on this occasion it was for my daughter’s wedding ceremony.
Not knowing exactly what to expect on the day, it turned out to be perfect. Weather was glorious, location on the beach, band and photographer were excellent.
All our rooms were upgraded to pool or ocean views.
The staff are all very polite and can’t do enough to make your stay relaxed and very welcoming.
The hotel is excellent in my opinion, very clean, with plenty of space. Various pools with space and spotless, some with music.
Situated on the beach and a short walk to restaurants/bars, or you can stay in and just relax.
I love it here and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We would like to recommend Aod’s private thai boxing training. We had great workouts with him. We have experience and he was able to train us according to our skill level - also clinching. He is very friendly and he can train beginners as well as people with thai boxing experience.

This was my third time at the La Vela! Very friendly staff, great breakfast with many difference choices, big room with direct pool access (Pool Access Grand), modern and stylish beach club / bar and restaurant, the King of Lobster Seafood BBQ Buffet deserves a special mention - it was simply sensational, with sushi creation at its best, grilled specialities, etc. Simply fantastic!
I‘m already looking forward to next time!

Had several awesome Muay Thai kick boxing sessions with Aod. He was brilliant at adjusting to the fitness and skill level of our group. Was serious fun and an epic workout! Highly recommend.

Fantastic family friendly resort with great atmosphere and staff. Highlight of the stay was getting to train Muay Thai boxing with Aud in the ring on the resort grounds. He is an excellent teacher and the sessions are always incredibly fun and a full body workout. A must for any level of experience

Excellent hotel very friendly staff good location. Situated on the beach with accessible pools all around the hotel. Restaurants were excellent. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Fantastic stay at La Vela Khao Lak – modern rooms, beautiful pools, great breakfast, and friendly staff. We especially appreciated the indoor air-conditioned restaurant and the kids’ club, both perfect for families with small children. A small tip: adding a shade cloth over the kids’ pool would make it even better.

The breakfast really has everything and also very nice bread.
The resort is fresh but some years in the tropics are beginning to show.

There is one “non-resort” restaurant along the breach, otherwise there are plenty to choose from a short walk away. We had three kids 6, 4, 0 years old and distance was never a issue.

The beast was Pinichio! Our kids were not that great at eating Thai food unfortunately and this was by far the best Italian we have had in Thailand!

We stayed at La Vela Khao Lak. During check-in, we were asked if we had any special occasion, but nothing happened afterward.

That my birthday but I didn’t expect anything in particular, but it felt a bit strange to see two other tables beside us at breakfast receiving birthday celebrations with cake and songs from the staff, while ours was ignored. It just seemed inconsistent.

Also, the car park is quite limited, and when it was full, there was no staff to guide us where to park. The security just looked but didn’t offer any help.

Another issue was the in-room app for requesting amenities — it didn’t function. We waited about 30 minutes with no response until we finally called the front desk for assistance.

That said, the room itself was very nice — spacious, comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom that made our stay relaxing.

Overall, the property is lovely but the service and coordination could be improved.

I was very disappointed with my recent stay. When I checked in, the staff who escorted me to my room left the door open. That night, I was bitten by mosquitoes on my face throughout the night, even though I had not left any doors or windows open.

The next morning, I made myself some coffee before going out for a massage around 3 p.m., and I requested housekeeping to clean the room. When I returned, I noticed that the face towel had not been replaced. The housekeeper informed me that there were no clean towels left because the hotel was fully booked — which I understood.

However, when I turned on the kettle to make coffee again, I was shocked to find noodles inside it. I felt extremely disgusted, realizing that the room had not been properly cleaned, and that the coffee I drank in the morning was made from water boiled in that same kettle.

To make matters worse, during breakfast, I also found something unidentified inside my glass.

I truly didn’t expect such poor cleanliness from a hotel of this standard. It was a very unpleasant experience that has left a lasting impression — now, every time I drink coffee, I can’t help but think about the noodles I found in the kettle.

We have been coming to La Vela since it opened and every year our son has done Thai boxing lessons in the hotel with Aud. He is incredible. A great talent and a patient, yet encouraging trainer. Our teenager happily gets up early every morning of his holiday to train with him. Make sure you book a lesson if you stay at La Vela!

Clean room and good facilities
Service is great and food in hotel is quite delicious. If you need some rest and don't want to go out, here is ok.

Beautiful hotel. There are many photo spots. Great location, convenient to visit. And I can't forget it. The lovely, smiling staff here for the fourth time. My favorite hotel in Khao LAK is in Lavela. ♥️♥️

We have been fortunate to stay in some nice hotels on our travels but LaVela has exceeded every hotel we have ever stayed at! A wonderful hotel in a wonderful setting. Ideal location for bars and restaurants and for the main bang niang area. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well tended to by the friendly housekeeping team. The thing that really makes la Vela outstanding however is the people that work here. From the concierge team to the reception team to the housekeeping staff, they are truly truly wonderful people who go out of their way to ensure you have the best holiday possible. A special mention to Khao, DJ Ark, Aod, Meed, Yee, Sarah, toffee, gam, pim and all of the amazing team at the kakulo beach club, they all really made our holiday exceptional.

Highly recommend the food and drinks at kakulo beach club and if you have the opportunity and are celebrating something special, the romantic beach dinner is a must do. Breakfast in spices restaurant was delicious and plentiful with different choices each day.

We will not hesitate to book La Vela again as out first choice when we return to Khao Lak
