Just relaxing, I loved the clientele that it attracted
Lovely location and the room was well equipped, clean and tastefully decorated with Gaia products in the bathroom which smell amazing!
The grounds are lovely too.
A lot of areas needing some TLC - especially the pool area and the conservatory. Food was just ok for the high price.
A comfortable, country hotel with spa in a lovely location. Friendly staff and good food. Good value for money. Will come again.
The dinner was pleasant but not restaurant standard, although breakfast was very good.
Loved the location, the room was so comfortable. I loved that I was provided with a robe, swim towel and flip-flops. So many hotels make such a fuss of this, and I just felt I had everything I needed. Bed, sheets, gorgeous bath, teas and coffee, information, the wifi, tv, all brilliant. I loved how pitch black it was at night, and how quiet it was. Just hearing the river in the distance. The pool was incredible, sauna was huge, loved the relaxing music. The jacuzzi was amazing, warm and so lovely to sit out on the loungers in the sun. It was so peaceful, reading by the pool in the warmth. Couldn't access the beach, but I would have loved to. Fallen tree in the way. All the details and extras, water fountain etc. The grounds, and the area at the bottom of the valley. Stunning. I felt I had 'come away' from my life and felt restored. I had lunch on the terrace, food was excellent and then afternoon tea, just peacefully in the sun looking out over the valley, heaven.
This peace and bliss, and mutual respect by all the adult guests was shattered by screaming children with parents who seemed to have no interest in asking them not to shout and scream. Everything else was perfect, for those of us who don't have kids, work hard and try to get away for a break, dealing with screaming kids is a NIGHTMARE. It ruined the experience. I know this is difficult for a hotel to manage - but it is something you could perhaps factor in in future, times of the year, where you offer child-free stays. ????
Nice gardens
The food was a bit pricey
The bedroom was spacious and had everything needed including robes & pool towels.
The pool, jacuzzi & sauna was a relaxing space to unwind.
Spacious and comfortable room with modern bathroom.Excellant breakfast. Great location and lovely grounds
Limited dinner menu which was overpriced
Staff were extremely friendly, location was beautiful and the facilities were superb.
Nothing
Another awesome stay in this gem
Everything as it should be
Nothing worth mentioning
Privacy, location
Not mentioned that you needed to take towels to the spa/pool. That’s my only comment. Amazing other than that!
Facilities great although a little overcrowded on Sunday morning. They need a wider lane for swimmers doing lengths so more than 1 can fit on it.
Crowded pool where lots of people trying to do lengths and one lane was exclusively for one person which took up room.
The room was 4 star. Nice shower. Nice bedclothes. Lovely view over rear of property. Car park was very poor. Haphazard and chaotic at best. Poor quality of disrepair. Pornhub jokes and bumpy. Poor signage and lighting. No tarmac to wheel suitcases. Muddy. Inside the hotel was fine although some of the carpets were dirty and torn. Some decor was poor outside the rooms. Gloomy feel in the corridor. Spa was ok, but certainly not 4 star. I had just come from one spa in Sidmouth that was 4 star and it far exceeded this hotel. Basic and a bit more like a public bath. No steamroom either. Lighting was stark and basic. No ambiance at all. Children were also unsupervised and made the whole experience less than relaxing. Changing room was very basic with no luxury to it. Overall not bad but not 4 star and not that special.
Room was nice and clean and big enough.
Comfortable bed.
Very clean.
Heard people above walking about. Heating making loud noises
Great location on the Helford river. Spa was great and the whole hotel was very relaxed.
We thought the menu was limited for such a stunning hotel.
