Mookies in my opinion is the best accomodation for being close to Charlie Beach which is THE location for the island. 4 minutes walk, nice jungle style surroundings, clean open restaurant area. Lovely staff. Basic accomodation but you are very aware of this when you book it as per the price. Room is clean, get the one with aircon 100%. Shower is very weak and the bed is pretty hard but you get what you pay for. Good food offered. A very low key, backpacker style vibe, 90s style holidays with no selfies and instagram idiots, just nice people relaxing. Definitely choose this one if you are researching for accomodation at Charlie Beach. There are a couple even closer but they will be noisy with all the taxis and bikes. Highly recommend as the beach is just divine and is cool to just be down the road from it.

Simply stunning beach and water. You want to spend all day there and with the the heat it's fab to be so close versus needing to get a tuk tuk. Rest of island is lovely but Mookies location is ideal. Staff were fabulous, so friendly and welcoming - felt at home. All other guests were great, travellers too and just a nice vibe and great value for money.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our travelling honeymoon trip. We loved our stay. There is a lovely family feel to Mookies, everyone is so attentive and helpful. Wan in particular was always around and attending to our queries. Bert was always non-stop busy working, picking up and dropping off people or working on the grounds.

We found the bungalows lovely and comfortable. I loved just sitting on the terrace and watching the wildlife. There were plenty of hornbills around and others staying at Mookies told us they saw monkeys around.

Mookies is very close to Charlie beach and you can rent Kayaks from Mookies.

Stayed here for 8 nights. One of the best accommodations on the island. I strongly recommend it.

Mookies is a quiet resort, surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and next to the jungle. You can walk to the beach in under 10 minutes. We rented a scooter from the hotel and explored the island. It was a shock after being on other islands, so much rubbish and many stray dogs.
We kayaked to the emerald cave early in the morning, it was stunning.
The owner is lovely and the food was amazing!

Rooms aren’t cleaned every day, but fresh towels and water were provided. The staff is very welcoming. What I absolutely loved was the quiet surrounding. Charly beach is only a few minutes walk away.

Vakkert sted , rolig , utrolig frodig og vakre omgivelser . Veldig hyggelig personale , enkel , og god frokost ( ikke inkludert ) , deilig middag . Kort gangavstand til verdens vakreste strand , charlie beach . Kommer gjerne tilbake !

We loved the staff at Mookies! So friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Unfortunately by luck of the draw, we were placed in cabin B1, the worst location. It is right beside the kitchen, where the dog pack hangs out and brings garbage etc along with them. By all means, stay here! The location, close to Charlie Beach is fantastic. Just be sure to rent another unit, and preferably one with AC.

Bodde 6 nätter med två barn. Rent och fint, med bra service. Ca 400 m från öns bästa strand, och ca 1,5 km in till byn. Hyrde en motorcykel billigt för hela vistelsen, så avstånden var inget problem. Väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Enda nackdelen var morgontidiga fåglar, men de flyger ju över hela ön 🙂

Lovely and quiet resort. All the staff are fantastic and hardworking.
For what I paid I had a very good clean fan bungalow with all I needed, I will add photos but you can see how picturesque the resort is from other people’s photos.
The food and beer very good and not expensive.
You are only 50Baht per person motor bike and sidecar from the pier and small town.

A very nice and relaxed stay at at Mookies.
Friendly and service minded staff that cooked excellent food and could help out with the traveling and trips around.
Location is good as well, not in the village but only a few hundred meters walk to the Farrang beach.

Unassuming little bungalow, but very comfortable. By the time we got here, I was ready to relax and the atmosphere here is perfect for that. I've spent more time just sitting than ever before. Sitting on the porch, sitting on the beach and even just sitting at a restaurant nursing a glass of lemon iced tea.

Only a short walk from Mookies to Farang Beach, a truly tropical paradise....The bungalows at Mookies were excellent, clean and very comfortable beds. The fridge is a very nice touch. The food was quick and fast and very tasty. Of course you have other restaurants nearby if you can possibly tire of Wan and her crews offering. Nick her husband was always ready to give some advice and have a good story to share. All in all, good prices for both bungalows and food and drink.

It really feels least effort was put into the running of this establishment. The rooms look like backpacker hovels but cost more than a decent place you could get in Bangkok. The food is ridiculously bad, the rooms are sparsely furnished and the facilities in the ad on Booking are exaggerated. I guess it's about 15 years too late for the whole island.

The only benefit for staying here is it's a 5 minute, really dusty, dirty walk to the best beach on the island. Barring this, the bosses of this place have some how lost their minds on what they think their rooms are worth - it should be around 300-500 baht IMO. I guess they'll just keep on pushing their least effort until nobody wants to book rooms anymore.

Nice stay at Mookies but found the bungalow a little small and bathroom a bit basic. Having said that it was very clean and bed was fairly comfortable plus we had air conditioning. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Certainly ok for a few days and well located for Charlie Beach. Seemed to cater well for families, couples and solo travellers. Wi-Fi available but only in the restaurant area.

On arriving to stay for 9 nights was made immediately welcome by owner Wan .Wan was able to answer all our questions we had about trips and the island .Other members of staff where always smiling and made you feel welcome .The bungalow we stayed in had views into the jungle area where we could sit on a balcony and listen to the wonderful night creatures .The bungalow was very clean and spacious and met our needs plenty of hot water .I had a massage on site and that was a wonderful experience .Breakfast good and a really nice tasting coffee .Everyone at Mookies go the extra mile to ensure you have an enjoyable stay .Although we had no children with us there where children of various ages there whom seemed to be enjoying themselves Mookies welcome families I would recommend staying here and would not hesitate to go back there

Everything you’ve read is true. This island is peaceful and quiet. It also happens to be gorgeous, vibrant, teaming with life and, for myself, a wonderful place to recover and recharge.

Waan is warm and kind. She organized excursions for us (the emerald cave is honestly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!), made sure we had everything we needed and kept our bellies full with delicious Thai food. Her son is a cutie pie. 🥰

The bungalows themselves are kept VERY clean. They are only a 5 minute walk from Charlie beach- which itself is sublime. The water clear and warm. The only rub is that garbage collection only comes to the island 3 times monthly. However, that said, when they do collect, it restores the beach to its well deserved glory. I was here after 911 and it honestly hasn’t changed that much.

We stayed at Mookies for the ch®isthmus holidays. Situated on a quiet spot the resort has comfortable, clean bungalows and its own restaurant. In five minutes you walk to the most beautiful beach at Koh Muk. Owner and staff are very hospitable and the place is vey family friendly. Recommended !
