Front counter staff good.
Arrived and told NO restaurant, so no meal that night and also NO breakfast. Nothing mentioned on the site. NO towels in the room. Half used shower gel in the room, mould up the inside of the shower cubicle, main hotel area wall paper hanging off. Room doors need damping, they just slam making a very loud noise.
Convenient for restaurants
The place was filthy overheated and stank
Nothing
Been charged twice, no contact details, even the number for reception doesn’t answer, Musty, Damp, very dated, scruffy, no one on reception, you have to ring a number & wait 10 minutes to answer and a further 10 minutes for someone to turn up
Booking.com didn’t help either
Location
No staff anywhere
Nothing it's dreadful
No towels in the entire hotel, dirty, uneaten banana in room, no toilet role, half bottle of wine in room. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Absolute con.
Cheap
Uninterested staff, door didn't work initially, uncomfortable bed (never had back pain before and cannot stand up today), bathroom was dirty, complimentary mini toiletries had been been half used. No milk for tea/coffee. TV had been removed from wall. Bedsheets were stained.
The hotel has seen better days. The wallpaper is peeling in the corridors and the rooms.
The staff were fine, although they could have been much more helpful, smiley and welcoming. It's not surprising with the state of the hotel.
Considering the fantastic location, the owners have let the hotel fall into squalor.
What a shame.
Location
No proper curtains.
No TV
No breakfast
Long walk and lots of stairs to room.
No toilet paper on arrival
Very noisy from other rooms
Room key kept failing meaning a long trek back down go reception (3 occasions)
Shower pressure very poor.
Room not serviced
Wiring of lights in Room very odd and confusing
Hotel in general in very bad state of repair.
Very very over-priced!
Nothing
Not impressed, just glad that my wife wasn't there to experience it. The hotel was run down. The room had poor quality or broken furniture and fittings. The mattress was stained and the shower was broken. I at 4.30 AM, as I couldn't stand sleeping in the room any longer! Disgusting standard.
My family and I booked a family room, where the door handle fell off and the shower weren’t fully operating. This raised safety concerns and hygiene concerns as only the bath water was in operation. I would’ve preferred to shower my children than put them in the bath. The smart TV weren’t working either, the remote kept disconnecting from the TV. It would have been nice if the family room had cots available
Location
The staff and room
Nice staff, very attentive, , rooms very clean, bedding clean, towels very good quality,
Stepping out of shower high, for elderly people with mobility, however, shower very good and hot, heating in building hot, however opened windows to allow fresh air circulate
It was as described by booking.com and their reviews. The main hotel is s avery old building being refurbished. The room I stayed in is in the Crown suites next to the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable but in need of some repair in places.
N/A ...it was as expected
The bad was ok.
The staff were not very helpful, when you could find them, many times we waited in reception for staff to appear
There was no food available at any time during the day.
The bar was closed all the time.
Our key card had to be reprogrammed each day.
Coffee in the room, enough for one day and not available on request.
We requested a ground floor room and were given one on the first floor. With it's very dated decorated.
On many occasions we rang the hotel during the week before we arrived and couldn't get any reply after leaving a message requesting a call back.
So in the end we paid for a bed and nothing else.
We'll not be going back and advise nobody else to book if they are expecting a hotel.
In the town centre
Rooms were dirty, musty smell, no hot water, contacted reception via telephone and email, no response
Bathroom wash spaces , bed was comfortable
Shower soap
