L Plaza Hotel

Was there in July 2023
Plus for: Location near busses and about 30 minutes walking to old city. Staff are nice and helpful.
Minus for: The rooms are bad, sound isolated, and need to be upgraded, and a renovation of the rooms will make the hotel much better.

I don't usually write reviews, but I did want to write about L Plaza as the previous reviews are not exactly encouraging. Although it's approximately half an hour walk from the sites, it was worth it. I enjoy walking around, but the metro and the bus stations are close by for those not interested/able to walk.
The staff were friendly and the hotel was impeccably clean. I received fresh toiletries everyday. The breakfast buffet is the same everyday, but I was okay as the quality was fine (fresh milk and salad, good oil used to fry eggs and nuggets).
The internet was good and despite previous reviews, the elevator was in perfect working condition. And oh, I was on the 10th floor, the view from my room was beautiful! But Tbilisi is quite scenic so ..
All in all, my stay was quite pleasant.

The hotel has about 40 rooms. The rooms are clean. The air condition system can stay on all the time. Of course, our second room was not like this.
The location is suitable. There is easy access to grocery stores and markets. There is a 5-minute walk to the subway.
The behavior of the staff is friendly.
Cleanliness and silence are bold.

First of all behavior of hotel staff are really not professional.Breakfast buffet was really terrible.They didn’t provide even water bottles to room everyday..Location wise not that much perfect view from room and hotel.Hotel Room was ok.

Hotel was miserable and completely disappointing for 4 stars hotel.. food was very bad in taste and in diversity.. rooms were not clean at all and there were many insects inside the room.. there were problem in water circulation inside the bathroom between noise in the walls, shower can't be hanged you have to hold it during the shower, there were problem inside the toilet, water were not steady ... Internet quality was very bad and it keeps disconnecting..only one elevator for 10 floors and each floor contains 5 rooms so you have to wait for too long to get up and down especially of you are in high floor..the only positive thing was the location it was near metro station isani with two supermarkets beside and the toilets have (shataf).

I am disappointed. I did not wait such a bad food, meals. We eat the same already 3 days.
Generally the hotel is clean, every day workers clean our room.
But the breakfast is stress for us every morning.

I would say I was definitely happy for my 5 nights stay at the hotel. The place was neat and clean, and also very close to the metro station. The hotelier named George was very accommodating and helpful.

the internet is soooo slow and keep disconnect.
The AC is not working , the room is so hot and even when you complain about it they say all the rooms are the same.
The reception are not supportive or helpful at all.
stuff has very poor english , cant communicate with them easily.

Read a lot of negative things about this hotel and have to say we had a great stay. Rooms were clean breakfast although the same daily had lots of variety, hot, cold food fruit and pastries galore, even Georgian Chacha alcohol. There is a nice little cafe attached to the side of the hotel and plenty of supermarkets and wine shops close by.

The only downside were the walls are quiet thin and you can hear traffic noise from the road outside. It’s a bit out of the main town approximately 2 km but taxis easy to get.

To Start with positives... the room was very spacious. View from our room was nice

Negatives:
AC wasnt working on Day 1.
Day 2 water was dripping from the AC duct
Elevator is the biggest problem. With only one ELEVTOR for a 10 storey building and multiple rooms, it would take a lot time to come and sometimes so full that you need to wait for next 20 -25 min. Climbing up stairs upto 8th floor is not feasble
Breakfast is same everyday. Boring
Refill for breakfast is slow
No kitchen after 10pm till morning 8 am :(
No staff to help to take luggage

I stayed here for two nights. Before going there i heard about the faulted elevators and that was right. They have only one elevator which most of the time not working. There breakfast is just OK. they dont have proper restraunt. I stayed on 9th floor but due to elevator, i suffered.

I was out of the room most of the time but when i wanted to relax at night, the people next door were really loud that i couldn't sleep.

The reception guy with glasses is professional and respectful.

Hotel is 10 mins walk away from metro.

P.S very satisfactory stay.

Before coming here I already read some reviews..negative reviews so I didn't expect for more. I just look for something to enjoy our stay but still I find "some" that I can't avoid to rant as I'm a hotelier.

Positive:
I love there floor to ceiling windows
A room attendant who always does a room cleaning,overall the hotel is clean.
Staff at the breakfast is so nice, loved their smiles

Negative:
Breakfast is 101% the same for 24/7
Bathroom is too small
Curtains must be changed
Expired beers inside the minibar
TV Channels is sooo poor! No International or english channels.

Please don’t categorize this hotel as a 4 star. Reception service terrible. No room service.

Only the guy who work as a receptionist on 28 night shift , he was helpful with smiley face .

Worst ever hotel we stayed, so called 4star but not deserve even 2Star..main problem Only one Lift that took very slow guest has to wait very ling. Breakfast is below average and repeated same everyday.. All Rooms are having design issues with interior, bathroom fitting and drainage.. Response time is too late by hotel staff to resolve any issue.. Not recommend..

Having booked and paid for a large triple room, the room allocated to us was merely a double room with another single bed added. We were told the hotel was fully booked so no change was possible initially. However, after 3 days, we were moved to a larger, genuinely triple room which was much better. This had issues too, however. The shower leaked all over the floor and maintenance staff seemed absent without leave. After another two days, we were eventually moved to a “premier” room with a balcony. This was better although it was still a little untidy - cables hanging from ceiling, ill fitting curtains, broken shower etc.
One member of staff (perhaps deputy manager) was really excellent but most others were off hand and useless.
Breakfast was disappointing. Same food every day and often no available tables. On one occasion, when it was busy, I tried to take two mugs of coffee to our room but was stopped by the grumpy staff there who said it was not permitted.
Returning to the room topic, there was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee and we were apparently not allowed to take drinks and food to the rooms? We ignored this “rule” and bought tea, coffee, milk and sugar for the room in a local supermarket and ate a later breakfast elsewhere on most days.
The advertised free WiFi was extremely limited and only worked well in our final room (the “premier” one). Follow up research suggested that this room was more than double the price of the triple room we initially booked.
One small elevator serviced the entire hotel including housekeeping staff so inevitably there were often long delays for the lift or a required walk to or from the 8th floor.
We opted for the laundry service on one occasion and that too was rather poor. Clothes were certainly clean and dry but poorly pressed despite the rather high cost of the service (£1.50 per item).
The hotel claims to be a 3* hotel but this is certainly not the case in my opinion. The location is good being only a 20 minute walk or a short taxi ride from the old town and if you want a budget hotel at slightly more than budget prices then this is your place.

Not all staff at the reception are very responsive.

They book a deluxe room with balcony and provide a make shift room. Very bad service. AC not working properly.

After complain they provide a better room. Still not the deluxe room with balcony.

Breakfast menu is same everyday!

We stayed 3 nights and honestly, it’s wasn’t a good experience. There was no intercom in the room, so I personally had to go at the reception for each request. I complained about it and they failed to provide any solution. The staff at desk was somewhat helpful but nothing exceptional.

For our entire stay, the complimentary breakfast didn’t change a single thing. It was boring and with limited option. I have had better breakfast in less expensive facilities than this hotel. They somehow thought it’s good idea to serve salad bar in breakfast.

The room was small, and washrooms was tiny. TV worked but there was nothing to watch. Most of the channels played some advertisement and the rest were non-English channels. House-keeping didn’t show for 3 days even upon request. The day we moved in the room, nothing was provided we even had to request for basic toiletries.

Apart from all this, the walls are paper thin. We were able to hear conversations of other rooms quite clearly. They only way to stop that was to play some music on the phone. It’s shocking to me how this hotel has gotten the given rating. I wouldn’t give it more than 2 stars. One for its relatively convenient location and other for general area cleanliness.

Myself & my wife stayed there 5 nights. Same breakfast all the days no change at all. Inside the room electric kettle not working. TV not working.
Reception staff are okay, but rest of the service staff don't smile at all, perhaps maybe not able to speak English.
Will not recommend any of my friends.
Since no restaurant in the Hotel, for dinner you have to spend additionally for taxi to & fro. Good thing is that they allow to bring-in outside food to the rooms.
