Unloved, uncomfortable and disappointing
Cons:

This hotel is clearly using very old photos, because what we found was a tired, unloved and dirty hotel - so much so that we ended up leaving two nights early.

Our first impressions weren’t good. When we arrived, we had to hunt to find a member of staff to check us in. When we eventually did, an unenthusiastic member of staff simply asked for our passports and little else. There was no real welcome, no explanation of the hotel or its facilities and we didn’t encounter the owner for two days either. Had we not seen the photos online beforehand, we wouldn’t even have known about the seafront area and when we tried to find it ourselves, we got lost.

Unfortunately, the facilities themselves bear little resemblance to the impression given by the photos. The sun loungers by the sea are clearly very old and in grim condition. The pool didn’t look inviting at all - it appeared not to have been properly cleaned for some time and the overly warm water did little to reassure us. An outdoor sofa/seating area pictured online was, in reality, a barren terrace covered in leaves with no cushions or tables. The pool sadly overlooks a carpark too, which is only out of view from certain angles.

Our room was equally disappointing. The door was decaying and difficult to shut. The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, while the air conditioning was extremely loud and emitted such an unpleasant odour that we couldn’t use it. The shower had extensive orange mould as well as the beginnings of black mould.

Housekeeping was also poor. When our room was cleaned, the bed was merely made, the wet bath mat was left exactly where it was and the rubbish wasn’t taken out. The pool/cafe toilet was particularly unpleasant, with faeces left in the bowl and an empty toilet roll discarded on the floor.

We deliberately don’t choose glitzy, bland hotels and much prefer staying somewhere with character and personality, which is exactly why we booked this place.

Всё было великолепно: уютная большая комната с видом на сад, с собственной небольшой террасой. Огромная мраморная ванная с деревянными жалюзи, которые создают красивые тени. Мебель не новая, но добротная деревянная. Ничего не отвлекает от любования морем: его видно буквально отовсюду в отеле. Отдельное спасибо — управляющей Merih, она написала мне сразу после бронирования, уточнила время заезда (он был поздний), организовала всё так, чтобы даже в ночи нас встретили и заселили.

Отличные турецкие завтраки: множество закусок, овощи, фрукты, кофе, свежевыжатый сок, яйца на выбор, всё это — на потрясающей веранде с видом.

Pros:

Очень красивый, солнечный отель с прекрасным панорамным бассейном и роскошным скалистым пляжем. Это место на пенинсуле - одно из лучших для купания и снорклинга, а для любителей попрыгать в воду и вообще лучшее. Все понравилось, хозяева очень предупредительные и приветливые люди. Завтрак действительно прекрасный. Собираемся сюда снова и на подольше.

Unser Aufenthalt im Lycia Hotel war wirklich sehr schön. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das leckere Frühstück und das unglaublich nette, herzliche Personal. Man fühlt sich hier sofort willkommen und fast wie bei einer kleinen Familie. Die familiäre und freundliche Atmosphäre hat unseren Aufenthalt besonders angenehm gemacht.

Wonderful escape on Peninsula

Завтраки на 100 из 10, для каждого гостя вам накроют королевский стол, со свежевыжатым соком и вкуснейшим капучино, так же по вашим пожеланиям приготовят омлет или любое другое блюдо, просто огромный выбор вкуснейших сыров и джемов, оливок и салатов, хотелось попробовать все)
Номер люкс просторный , с отдельной спальней и очень большой ванной, очень тихо и прохладно в номере в любую жару, я прекрасно высыпалась все дни.

The perfect hotel for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Pros:

We loved our stay at this family run hotel. The team, led by Merih were all so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As many have commented, the breakfasts were superb and the view from the restaurant area breathtaking. The hotel provided the perfect peaceful holiday we needed. Easy to catch a Dolmus into Kas town from the top of the hotel road, just 50 TL pp each way - every half hour and v reliable.

The photos listed on Booking.com made it look wonderful but this is not what we experienced.

Cons:

I booked two rooms at Lycia Hotel for my family of 5 for 8 nights. We were so excited for our stay based on the exceptional photos, but when we arrived (the road in is so steep our car was struggling) it was a ghost town and we had no idea where the reception was. A man walked out and gave us no warm welcome but asked for our passports. Compared to the warm welcome we received at all the other hotels we stayed, this felt very cold. He showed us our rooms, which were up a long flight of stairs on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The "penthouse suite" on the 3rd floor was stuffy and super hot with several small mattresses on the floor. My husband couldn't even stand up all the way the ceilings were so low. On top of this, the kitchen area looked like it was covered with plywood and all the plants were dying. The property and rooms looked really rundown, and I think this property could use some serious maintenance otherwise the beautiful photos displayed on Booking.com are truly not representative of the offering.
Given all of this, and due to the fact that the price of Lycia Hotel was 2x the price of a much nicer place down the road with an all-vegetarian restaurant, we decided to leave after 10 minutes and had to find a different place to stay so we kindly asked the owner for a refund but she refused to give us a full refund and charged us over $700 usd for one night even though there were clearly not many people staying on the property, if any (so any argument about losing out on funds from another guest is not relevant). I would strongly recommend NOT staying here and staying at Mavilim instead!
