Great Hotel in northern Yogyakarta
Pros:

I stayed at Grand Keisha Yogyakarta with my family in December 2025 for a five-night stay.

Location
The hotel is conveniently located near Pakuwon Mall, which is easily accessible on foot. Dining options around the hotel are plentiful and varied. While the property is not located in the city center, reaching central Yogyakarta takes approximately 30 minutes by car, which is still reasonable considering the surrounding amenities.

Service
Service quality is one of the hotel’s strongest points. From security and valet parking to front office, concierge, and bell service, the staff consistently demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and genuine hospitality. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and the security team handled vehicle flow and valet service exceptionally well. Based on my stays at various hotels, this level of service stands out positively.

Facilities
For a four-star hotel, the facilities are well-maintained and functional. The swimming pool and gym adequately supported our daily activities during the stay. Guestroom comfort is generally good; however, a few maintenance-related points should be addressed:

In Room 615, water drainage in the shower area was slow, causing temporary water pooling that could pose a safety concern.

Wallpaper in Room 615 showed signs of peeling and wear.

The safety deposit box in Room 611 could not be locked, despite following the provided instructions.

As an enhancement, upgrading in-room televisions to Google TV or Smart TV would align the hotel with current four-star standards.

Breakfast
Breakfast quality is satisfactory, with taste rated at approximately 7 out of 10. The main course selection rotates daily, which is appreciated, with gudeg offered consistently as a signature local dish. To further improve the experience, greater variety in side items such as pastries, salads, fruits, and porridge would be beneficial, particularly for guests who prefer non-rice options.

Overall Impression
Overall, this hotel delivers a solid and comfortable stay, supported by excellent service and a strategic location. I would rate Grand Keisha Yogyakarta an 8 out of 10. With minor improvements in room maintenance and in-room technology, the property has strong potential to achieve an even higher rating. Pros:

Love the room, the staffs are friendly and helpful. The rrom are clean and very comfortable after tiring day. I like it, it is not in the middle of the malioboro. Gotta see other side of the town. They even have mall nearby that is walkable.
